Ale House 1890 is a very charming place, nice mix of old walls and decor with a more modern menu. They also have a very nice patio area with a firepit. I ordered the BBQ shrimp with jalapeño cheese grits.. I was expecting more of New Orleans BBQ shrimp but I wasn't mad to find that their BBQ shrimp had more of a traditional BBQ taste. The sweet notes worked well with the heat from spicy grits.. Also had the blackberry mule very tasty. I live in Cbus but I'll definitely come back again.
We were super lucky to get a window seat and sit next to a couple who love Lancaster. We had a great conversation with them. Our favorite part was the mussels with chorizo in beer. SO DELICIOUS. Pictures don't do it justice. All we wanted to do was soak the baguette in that but we are gluten intolerant and the beer was more than enough for us that night. We had two cocktails that were okay - nothing out of this world or done exceptionally better than other places. May it's because they were SUPER busy. Not sure but will give them another try on a different day. The place looks okay too - a little too dark for our place. The windows do a great job of brining in the light. The isle are super narrow so if you are a bigger person, just fyi it might be a tight fit. I got a salad that had too much lime but that's just my taste buds. Might be great for someone else. My steak was super well done even though I asked for pink in the middle. There were a couple of pieces of the salad that looked like they were going bad. The pizza was absolutely delicious. I would totally recommend this place for it's pizza. Next time we stop by we will just order the pizza and different drinks. Maybe sit a table instead because the counter service wasn't that great.
Delicious burgers, great cocktails. You must try the blackberry mule! After a long day of hiking at Hocking Hills, we stopped in for dinner. Although there was an hour long wait, we were lucky to be seated at the bar with amazing service. We will be back again!
Wonderful experience for date night with my wife. Food was great and the atmosphere was wonderful!
Delicious food. Considering how busy they were our food came out fast. Our server was great, very attentive. The best cheesecake I've ever had!
We had the Asian Pork Shank and Mahi Mahi and both were good. The pork shank was the winner though. Sat at the bar and service was 100%.
We called ahead and when we arrived were told someone had claimed our call ahead spot....??? I've eaten out at alot of restaurants and have never had this happen. Ever.We waited an additional hour as other call ahead parties were seated. Fortunately, no one claimed THEIR spots...It was not our fault that "someone else took our spot" yet I felt we were punished for it as nothing was done to rectify the situation. I gave it 1 star because I like the tomato soup. The cow on the wall represents how we felt while waiting.
This place was recommended by a local. It has a really nice atmosphere and the menu has a great selection. They had cider on tap which was really nice. We started with the artichoke spinach dip which was really good. I had the black and blue steak and pasta and my husband had the grilled chicken parm. Both were delicious. Mackenzie was our server and she did a fantastic job. So glad we were able to find this place instead of the usual chain restaurant!
Wow what a gem- so happy to find a place where they know how to make a great cocktail & great food. Friendly & helpful staff, nice decor. Would definitely return! Recommend the strawberry-jalapeno margarita (not too sweet, not too spicy), the smoked Manhattan, the duck duck pierogi, & pecan crusted chicken!!!
Historic. Industrial. Beautiful!Ale House 1890 is an absolutely amazing location for a phenomenal drink and amazing food. I'd recommend it over and again.
