The service has gone down the drain since precovid. The food is still great, but it takes forever. Most recently went for brunch on a Sunday. A little after noon. There was a few patrons at the bar, 3 tables of people inside and maybe 5 tables on the patio. Took almost 20 minutes before we were brought coffee and had our order taken, and it wasn't even our assigned waitress. We'd as of then still not spoke to her. About 15 minutes after that our waitress finally stopped to introduce herself and make sure we were taken care of. It took about 45 minutes after ordering our food to get it. I used to love brunches on their patio. I won't be going back.**Edit** short staffed? There was 3 people servicing less than 10 people sitting on the patio. If it was an issue with being short staffed one would think SOMEONE would have said something instead of walking by 4 times to ask if our waitress had taken care of us yet. It took 4 times before anyone brought us water and took our drink orders. Keyboard warrior? Check my reviews. Not a whole lot of negative ones. So my suggestion is don't attack former patrons for expressing concerns and poor experiences and instead work on ensuring no future customers have similar experiences.
So this is a really nice place I like it alot Ive been here before I did reviews for places. This is a small place that can get very busy. I love the large selection of beer they have. They have my favorite beer in the world. It's called Chimay it's a Belgian beer made by monks in Belgium. I highly recommend trying it. I like that they serve food super late. I believe past 1am. I tried there black bean sliders and there house mad chips there sliders were ok and the house made chips were not very warm almost cold but that's ok. The bartender was very short and almost seemed like in a bad mode almost rude with me. But laughed with what seemed regulars there and coworkers. That's probably why I didn't give a 5 star review. I will be back and my review could change over time.
The beer here is always on point. I love that. The space is really great too. The only complaint I have is also kind of a win; this place is known for burgers. I get that. But I wish they had some more vegan/vegetarian options so I could go here more. It's really cool that they have anything at all, shows they're making an effort. However, I feel like burgers and buns are really easy to have a vegan alternative, yet according to our server last time I was there, even the buns weren't vegan so I ended up getting a wrap that was just alright.If you're vegetarian or vegan and wanting to eat and drink, I'd probably recommend eating elsewhere and then heading here for drinks. If people in your group really want to eat here, you can get by and the beer is worth it. Plus, they're basically always open.
Spent a lot of money on a to go order and the quality of food for the prices are NOT worth it. Parts of my lettuce were literally black! & so much sauce it made it soggy..Grilled chicken so over cooked and dried outWell done burger burnt on the outside inside pink!
Renee and Peter,My experience recently has been that staff, especially at the bar, tend to ignore me. I don't mean the staff who are working with someone but the ones checking their phone or staring into space while I'm trying to get their attention. My most recent experience was that after sitting at the bar, getting a drink, and informing the bar tender that we will be ordering food, I couldn't flag anyone for 15 minutes. I know, we timed it. So I left money for the beer (and tip) and left.I was ready to write you off but my spouse chose instead to provide a review but still continue to come (maybe you were having a bad few months). The review was met with derision and an outright attack (something about him not being able to cook, obviously the writer was working some personal issues out). I do not tolerate bully behavior and will not be back. It really doesn't matter if the response was to my husband or a stranger, this type of behavior is unacceptable and there are plenty of bars in Lakewood. Over 10 years of memories on your patio are now going to be transferred somewhere else.
Outstanding food and my favorite beer selection in town.
We enjoy a beer, once in awhile, here at the BBE - on this particular Saturday, we indulged in East and West coast oysters, po'boy, and soft-shell crab. Their beer is always very good, particularly their IPAs. On other occasions, I've liked the hummus, bratwurst, burgers, and pierogis. Loud loud loud, but we go to watch a game so it can be. Tried to place an order at about 7pm on a Saturday night and was told the kitchen was too overwhelmed to accept an order. This would be fine except for the fact the restaurant was still open for 7 more hours and we were not presented an offer to wait, even if it would be a long wait period. The lady on the phone when I called to inquire about the order cancellation did not even apologize for canceling the order.
Craft beers, mimosas and a brunch menu to die for! I adore this place and cannot wait to go back. Super attentive staff and very friendly as well. I highly recommend you pay them a visit! I promise you won't regret it!!!
Great food. We had regular burger, slider burger and Cubano sandwich along with wings. Food was great and very tasty. They were little busy but the waitress was on top of it. Be considerate with them because like everyone else they are short staffed. We got our food in decent time and will definitely be back here again.
