We used to love going to Joey Chang's. There are food was well prepared and service was attentive. The last few times we have been the food while still good was not as good as it used to be but the service was terrible. We went about a month ago and had to wait for 15 minutes to be seated. Today we attempted to go but waited at the entrance for 10 minutes to be seated with no one in the restaurant and ended up leaving because no one came out. We could hear at least one person in the back but the collection of four of us waited and were not served.
We stopped again tonight, and the food was excellent as always. The service, however, was uncharacteristically miserable. The server brought the wrong spring roll and I had to ask for and wait for hot mustard. Our entrees took a very long time to arrive (only after asking a hostess to ask our waiter where they were and after three tables who had arrived after we had ordered had received theirs). We never saw the server again; our waters were never refilled and two different people brought carry-out boxes and several minutes later our check. This was an anomaly and we will return, but if this is the new normal, we wont continue to do so.
Great food, good service. I went with several friends for lunch and we lingered way too long. But they never tried to hurry us up.
Went to this place for lunch alone and ordered a dish and a side. The food wasn’t great but I gave one star was because of the service made me really uncomfortable. The lady waited me to sign the receipt and checked how much tip while I was still sitting on the table. She missed seeing the tip I wrote and told me to tip which I already did. I have NEVER went to a restaurant where people would check how much I tip while I was still sitting there, made me really uncomfortable and felt this was really really rude. (The food weren’t for me, I feel the rice smelled really bad and has a weird taste and I didn’t finish 1/3of it)
First visit but NOT my last!WOW!Terrific selection & variety of everything!Loved the veggie dumplings!Kind excellent service.
Great restaurant the food is amazing and the staff are great. They have a wide range of food so you will definitely find something you like.
Did not like the mushy shrimp in the won ton soup. Basically everything else was good, hot and fresh.
Friends from out of state came up for a visitation trip. They are vegetarian, and I try to find restaurants that have more than one or two choices. JC's has over a half page of the menu that is vegetarian-friendly.We ordered the vegetable dumplings and a vegetable spring roll with vegetable soup in a clear broth. I tried the dumplings with the accompanying sauce and it was very good. They ordered deep-fried tofu in a brown sauce that I've tried before that was delicious. I ordered won ton soup and there were delicate wontons swimming with a few tender shrimps, onion, and carrots. It was delightful! My entree was the cashew chicken. I think it was one of the top five renderings of this dish I've had in my life. I'm sure if you've tried cashew chicken at other establishments, you may have received perhaps a dozen half-pieces of cashews for the entire dish. Not this dish! Combined with the crunchy water chestnuts and I was one happy friar!Happy eating!
