Stopped in with friends and family on a whim while in town visiting. Hotel directed us to a couple of local restaurants. It was busy. Place was crowded and noisy, yet tastefully decorated. Hostess was young and a little bit snooty. She sat us in a different location than we requested. Our server was anything, but pleasant. Didn’t crack a smile. She gave us our drinks, but gave us unsweetened tea instead of sweet tea. When I told her about the mistake, instead of correcting it, she said that we didn’t ask for sweet tea. This was not the best start. The food came and it was delicious. Burgers were fresh, cocktails were good. My favorite part was the fried bologna sandwich which was served with fries, and a delicious sauce for dipping. Other staff were kind and courteous, nobody wore a name tag. I had to ask our server what her name was. Some of our items were delivered to our table by other employees. They seemed to help out wherever needed. Our server just simply wasn’t there to serve. She remained cold and short throughout our dinner. Food service should be pleasant and conversational, offering another dimension to your overall dining experience. If you have a staff with bad attitudes, it leaves you with an overall tainted experience, even if food & atmosphere are good. “Zoey” probably needs a work from home job, as customer service was not an obvious skill. The other servers and manager in the restaurant were welcoming and accommodating to our party, but our waitress acted like she would rather be anywhere else. I almost spoke to the manager about her as he walked by to check on things, but decided a written review would be more impactful. Being in the restaurant business ourselves in Alabama, we believe that your service can make or break your establishment. Hiring people with a positive attitude makes all the difference. We have found that bearing a name tag brings out more attentive service in all our employees, making them accountable. We will be back, but we will request a different server if seated with the same girl. If not for the service, I would give 5 stars if not for the service.
We are in town for a wedding and decided to try a local place close to our hotel and we are so glad we chose Billy Yanks! We had a large party and they were very accommodating to get us seated at two tables close to each other. The food and drinks were amazing!! Our server, Ja-Ja was great and super helpful with our questions and also patient with our party. The sous chef even came out to make sure everything tasted good! If we are ever back in Hamilton we will definitely come back to Billy Yanks!
Great place for lunch and dinner. We visited on 6-9-22, experienced great service and a decent whiskey selection. We ordered alot for 2 people but wanted to try everything, it did not disappoint.We ordered Buffalo Chicken Mac n cheese, Chilli Mac n Cheese, pretzel bites, Big Tex Burger, Fried Bologna sandwich, Crispy Brussel sprouts, and a Makers Mark 46 from French oak casks.We will be back and would recommend checking this place out.
Nice layed back environment took my wife here for Date night. Awesome food!! Love the Barbeque Grippo's Mac n cheese and the Burger I had was on point too!! Definitely will be back!!
We took the family for dinner and it was great. The whole place has a very nice atmosphere and excellent service. It was Hard to decide which dishes we wanted because they all look delicious. We ended up ordering the egg rolls and the Billy's shrimp which were absolutely amazing as well as the burgers.
Great food, service and drinks. There is a bourbon bar next door. It's a amsll place so call for reservations or prepare for a wait on weekends.

First time coming here and I am impressed! Food was amazing. The brussel sprouts were to die for, and the grippos mac n cheese was sooo good. We will be back. Definitely get a cocktail while you’re there!
Took the family here for a weekday lunch this past Friday. Walking in I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. The restaurant has a very warm, relaxing, feel to it. We had the “street egg rolls” and pretzel bites for starters. The egg rolls are way different than what you’d typically think…and it’s really good! Hard to explain, hamburger, cheese…good and unusual. The pretzel bites were also good. The cheese that you put on them had a very good flavor. I had the Billy Yank Burger. I was looking forward to the grilled onions on the burger and I wasn’t disappointed. Made the burger perfect. Wife had the Mac and cheese and she said it was really good. Our son and our granddaughter were with us and they loved their lunch also. All in all a great time with the family
