A nice country style restaurant. The Fish sandwich and fries was a pretty good meal. The service was excellent and the prices there are reasonable. Will go there again!!
Two stars for the quick on/off the interstate that makes this place incredibly convenient for passing through town. But only two stars. The smell coming from the bathroom(s) was not of human origin or had been left to sit for a long time. Mix raw sewage with grease, add some soap and other lingering bathroom smells and it is enough to make you want to bring up your breakfast. The unfortunate part about that would be that the food wasn't that great going down the first time, so I really don't need to taste it the second time.Skip the potatoes on the side if you get breakfast, they truly are not worth eating.
Got the chicken fried chicken breakfast and everything was cooked properly and fresh. The girl who rang out my order was very pleasant as well. Good value for the price.
I will admit I am more of a Barnyard Buster guy, but anything that I've eaten at TJ's and the atmosphere itself always seems to be a positive. The Barnyard Buster is still fantastic, and stands the test of time. This particular location is like Many of the other locations, you will get good service 9 out of 10 times, therefore I give it a four out of five. The lady was very prompt in filling up my drink the last time I was there, and she was very nice.
I love Tee Jay's I have been eating there since I was a kid. Although today wasn't good at all.Our server was great! Food not so much. We ordered the Famous Barnyard Buster and the eggs were way overcooked I told the waitress I wanted yoke well they were so done I couldn't eat them. The gravy tasted like paste we stopped the Manager and told him he said oh that's probably from last night???? ??♀️?? he did make new gravy but he also took my Aunts plate and took her biscuits with it so we had to wait for more biscuits as well as they only brought 1 bowl of gravy back to the table then the waitress said oh did you want gravy as well..Me ( well heck yeah I want fresh gravy ) Why would she have to ask??? It took so long to get my gravy that my other food got cold. The new gravy tasted better but was still lumpy from just being mixed..Very saddened we will not be visiting that location again..I also encountered a waitress that hit my chair as she passed our table and she said nothing not oh sorry or excuse me nothing..? Then she continued to pass my chair coming real close to it almost as she did it on purpose.. and was going to do it again.
This is a decent breakfast spot. We come here at least once a week because it's very close. We've had good service most times. We've had really bad service a few times. One time we waited so long that we just walked out. It's your typical diner, nothing fancy. The food isn't bad, it's not particularly good either. We order eggs. Keep it simple, and never order the strawberries. Some of the waitresses are kinda nice. It is what you'd expect. Tee Jaye's is a step up from the Waffle House, but not quite a First Watch. Three out of five stars because we've had more positive experiences here than negative. We came here for a month before anyone realized the name was Tee Jaye's and not "The Jaye's" due to the horrible loge design. It's breakfast.
The food was good today . But the raw sewer smell made us box our food up an take it home with us ! Our waitress was very idk not there ! I had to flag the cashier down just to get our drinks refilled. The cook had to tell her we was there and waiting to be seated ! After the cook had told her we were waiting at the door she turned around and looked at us and said well I didn't see them, then turned back around and still waited for someone else to seat us . And the men's restroom is where the sewer smell was coming from . Out of the floor drain there was a puddle of water ( sewage ). Again after we got our food home and could finally eat it was delicious ?.... kudos to the cook
Ordered ham and cheese Omelet. Had something really spicy in it. Couldn't eat. Potatoes cold and inedible. Restaurant always busy and surprised at quality of food.
If you do go,got to have the Barnyard Buster, everything that's good for breakfast on one plate smothered in gravy. And don't forget the hot sauce
Waitress was quite attentive and timely, but the kitchen needs to do a better job getting food out at the same time. Each of our meals came out in pieces and some orders were wrong. Probably won't eat at this location again
