I really enjoyed eating at this place when I lived in Elyria, Ohio used to go after church with my friend's food excellent and hot served fast.
I loved this place. They have a good selection of beer and wine. Plus, the food was really good. I love the unique look of the bar. It doesn't feel like you're in Elyria if that makes any sense. I went solely just to try the brisket poutine and it was the amazing. It is a huge serving for an appetizer, so eat strategically. I ate too much and barely got to try my actual entrée. I will definitely be back to try more food and drink more beer. This place rocks. I highly recommend Foundry Kitchen and Bar.
The food is great...even a simple meatloaf has an interesting gourmet spin. The deviled eggs are great as well. Both the meatloaf & eggs had just the right amount of heat to make them interesting.
We found this place on a road trip between Niagra falls and Chicago. It was several miles off the highway but we gave it a shot and glad we did. The restaurant was very unique and well designed. They had a huge bar and roll up garage doors (there for lunch so I assume they open them sometimes). My wife got the chicken tacos, I got the meatloaf and my son ordered a garlic pasta and an order of fried pickles. Our food was great however my son didn't care for his pasta (which he thought it was going to be something else). Server asked if everything was good, he mentioned he didn't really like his but we explained it was because he thought he was ordering something else. The server said they would take it off the bill which we said no, we ordered it and will gladly pay for it. She took it off anyway. If you haven't been, you need to check it out. Unfortunately, they are too far from Kentucky for us to regulars or we would.
The Foundry is a local legend in Elyria so I had to check it out. A great friend took me there. I can certainly see why it has a fabulous reputation. The hostess gave us a warm, friendly greeting and seated us promptly. The atmosphere is welcoming. Amber provided us excellent, professional service. She took really great care of us throughout the evening. The appetizer of Short Rib Poutine was super, and the portions were substantial. The carnivore pizza was outstanding! Loved every bite. And the carrot cake dessert is a must. The Foundry absolutely proved why they are held in such high regard. If you're anywhere near Elyria, eat at the Foundry.
The first pic is attached to their Google search and after wanting a bloody mary all day it looked like a pretty good bloody mary. Sadly when I arrived I was served the second pic. In general I've found this place to be better than decent but this really annoyed me. Going forward either take your own pics or learn how to make a drink consistently
Great place. Excellent service. Had Wasabi deviled eggs and California wrap. The Lemon Drop martini was also wonderful. Great bourbon selection
This venue used to be described as a steak house under another name. The last time my wife and I ate there, it was old, dull, dark and parking was an issue. So, fast forward to May 2022. The Foundry is a really nice place. They have ample parking right next door. We ate in the front room which was bright and cheery from where we could watch the people passing by. Our dinner time was a bit early (4:00) which turned out to be a benefit because, as our meal progressed, the place started to fill up quickly - and this was on a Monday. Our server was Chrissie. She was very perky, attentive and just loads of fun. Great servers are - IMHO - a key part of a quality restaurant and a reason why appreciative folks like us become regulars. I assume they have a chef because our meals were very creative and fresh. My wife had The Portobello sandwich which she loved. I like to experiment so I went with one of their signature dishes, the California Wrap with (tons of) shrimp and guacamole in a floured tortilla. Just fabulous. Had to take half home (it's my dinner tonight). All in all, our visit resulted in a very enjoyable and satisfying dining experience. We are planning on going back for brunch this Sunday after church.
The food. Exceptional. The decor. Awesome. The staff. Super nice. You can't go wrong going to lunch or dinner here. Not your typical bar food, they offer little twists or flare to your standard cuisine.
Took at least 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order at the bar. Restaurant not crowded at all. Got our food in a reasonable time once the order was placed. Once served. Did not see her for quite awhile. Honestly sat for another 20 minutes to get the check. Then she said it will be awhile before I come back. I think if I come back and see her behind the bar I’ll probably walk out
