Had to wait for 45 minutes to be seated. They were very busy. The chef was very entertaining. Food was good. Just wished they cut the meat and veggies smaller. Easily could have been cut in half and that would have been the perfect bite. Also ensures you get meat with more bites. I got the new York strip steak well done. It was tender and juicy!

This place is pretty good, and I would give it a 4.5 if I could, but it’s not a 5. The salad dressing on the dinner salad was more salty than flavorful… and the fried rice was a little too buttery for my tastes. The Chicken Yakisoba was very good but could have been a bit more savory. And the Spicy crab salad could have had a bit more crab, but was otherwise not bad.

Absolutely terrible!!! Reservations was made, but they were not ready for us. 14 people, family celebration. We were seated at two separate tables. At table #1 the cook arrived. He was very good, funny, and entertaining. Everyone said the food was adequate. Now the other table #2...here we sat watching table #1...we finally was served drinks and was watching table#1 eat. Finally the cook arrived at our table. He was not entertaining at all. We received our meals, the rice was dark dark brown. The meals was so saturated with soy sauce you couldn't taste anything but the sauce. All of us just picked at our food. The food was put in "to go boxes". Thought maybe we could salvage some of it..instead we threw it out. Hundreds of dollars wasted!!! One relative said he comes to this restaurant several times a year and not once was he served such awful food. We all should have refused to pay but no one wanted to cause a scene. Not one of us is ever going back to this restaurant. A terrible disappointment.

House of Japan, this location specifically, is incredible in so many ways. The staff is always on top of things, the chef we had was wonderful, really personable and a great performer to boot! Cannot recommend the egg yolk sauce enough, it's an awesome addition that is just soooo good. Really wanna have a serious dinner? Admiral's feast with egg yolk sauce and a long island ice tea. 10/10

Food quality was great. Service was some of the worst I have ever had unfortunately. Multiple discrepancies between the bill and the menu(one item alone had a $20 difference), was asked to pay before we could see the bill as well, multiple order mess-ups from forgotten items to wrong food. For carry out I'd say your fine, for dine in like myself I would choose a different location.

Convenient place to walk to for dinner when staying at area hotels. Several surrounding the establishment. Menus are all out of date though and have prices crossed off. They tell you that when they hand you the menu, but don't inform you what the prices are. From what I could gather the two times I visited this past week for lunch and dinner, they are roughly $3-$4 more than what's on the menu. Filet dinner portion hibachi ran over $40 with tip and upcharge for fried rice (costs $2 extra).Portions in comparison to other hibachi restaurants, also less. When I visited for lunch, I was told they do not carry clear/mushroom soup, even though it was blatantly on the dinner menu and I had enjoyed it two evenings prior. She said they only serve miso soup. With lunch you also only get salad or soup, not both. The taste and quality of food seemed decent. The ginger dressing was not like others I've had. The filet was cooked perfectly and the fried rice didn't even dry out as leftovers. Yum yum sauce was provided at dinner, but we had to ask for it at lunch. There wasn't much overall flair for what I'd typically see at my local hibachi spot though. No sake squirted across the grill, no chef knife action, and no rice thrown to see if you catch it, but nevertheless they did do the onion fire volcano. The chefs were all very personable and accommodating. If they'd fix their menus with correct pricing, and create more of an overall hibachi flair as I would typically expect, I'd increase my rating.

We love the staff and food at house of Japan. However, always call be fore you go for lunch. Today was the third time we have drove 30 minutes to find they either closed early for lunch or went to reservations only for lunch. Nothing was posted on the website advising at all.

Consistently one of the best Japanese Steak Houses in Columbus. Prices are reasonable and the food is always great. Chefs are personable and the support staff and attentive making sure your drinks never go empty or getting anything else you may need.Their imperial feast is amazing coming with shrimp, chicken, and steak. It even includes a soft drink and orange sherbet ice cream for dessert. I often get the scallops which are always cooked perfect and (optionally) served with the egg yolk topping. Their egg yolk is the best in town and it makes the scallops a rich, almost decadent experience.Only downside is they are very popular. If you are going anywhere around normal meal times, make reservations. They are busy during normal lunch and dinner hours.

Chef was excellent. Food was pretty good. Prices are reasonable.

Had a reservation for 6 and was taken back right away. Staff and chef were fantastic and very assuming to our two kids. Food was amazing as usual, so many left overs! One of our favorite spots. We'll be back
