Usually love this place. They have really great food and it’s totally of five. I love the decor inside and the cultural experience that you feel you’re experiencing inside. The only downfall, is the service sucks. You have to wait and atrocious amount of time typically. Every time I’ve went in here the hostess always takes forever to see you. Usually the servers have good service and are very polite but you can tell they’re overworked and overwhelmed. Still a great place so that’s why I gave it a three star.
After a long flight, we arrived at this four-star restaurant. When we received our food, we were disgusted and disappointed because the nachos we ordered were soggy and the chips were burnt and oversized. It's as if the chips were drenched in water before being brought to our table. We tried to eat our food in peace, but the waitress would constantly bother us, even after we told her we didn't need any help. We had planned to dine at this restaurant, but after eating there, we concluded that it deserves one star because of the lack of effort put into the food, the taste was off, and it was not worth our money I would not recommend anyone going here.
This is the worst location, and only unpleasant experience I have had with El Vaquero restaurants. I will stick to the one a little further away in Shawnee Hills (makes no sense why they have 2 so close to each other anyway). We entered, and there were 3 ladies at the bar, only 1 other table seated. They sat us rather quickly, but it was downhill from there. Even with a nearly empty restaurant, they weren't the least bit attentive, which you can see from the picture of the bar and open dining area, that their focus was on their personal conversations. We had to request to place an order, no refills offered on water, and while we sat for 10min trying to make eye contact with someone to get our check and boxes, they continued to chat with each other. The food was delicious as always, although the carnitas was about 75% thick, greasy, gelatinous fat, and 25% tender meat. Guac was amazing!
As always, a fantastic meal.
Enjoyed my lunch here - the queso was excellent and each dish our group ordered was very good.
We love Mexican food, that being said this was probably the best Mexican restaurant we've been to. The chips were warm and fresh the chimychanga was amazing along with the rise and beans. I would recommend this to anyone!

From Erie, PA and we ate here Friday night for my birthday and it was amazing. Had delicious strawberry margaritas and a party of 6 who all enjoyed their food! They also sang me Happy Birthday and brought out dessert! Will most likely visit again next time we come up.
