This is a difficult review because I want them to succeed (and I hope they do), but...the order of calamari was a single layer of 6 small circles. When we order calamari at a restaurant, it always comes piled on a plate. Our small appetizer plate held what looked like six anemic deep-fried rubber bands. That said, despite the miserly portion size, it was tasty. But, way over priced. The spaghetti and meatballs lacked flavor. The lasagna was OK. The cheese bread was OK. We left most of it on the table. All the things I mentioned are easy fixes so Tony's Italian Bistro, please spice up the spaghetti sauce a bit, get real with the calamari, and try a different bread for the cheesy bread.
The food, service and atmosphere is amazing! Very quaint and cozy! I definitely recommend the lemon garlic shrimp with pesto linguine and the cheesy garlic bread. So good! And, my man had the chicken parmesan with linguine and Cajun sauce and really liked the cajun sauce. Our waitress, Brandi was prompt and courteous.
The cheesy garlic bread, my lasagna, the wine...such good food and atmosphere!
We had dinner this evening and the food was great! We appreciated the only waitress working front of the house working so hard for all tables and customers. We also appreciated the plate presentation and quality of food that Tony's serves. I got the Cajun Chicken pasta and my wife got the chicken parmesan. We also highly recommend the cheesy garlic bread! We will be back! This place is going to do great in downtown Delaware!
Love the ambiance and service was great. Got pesto and shrimp and the shrimp was like little pieces of dried out rubber and didn't get very many compared to the amount of pasta. Should have gotten a double or triple order of shrimp, but there again, was rubbery. The meatballs were very good and really enjoyed the canolli. Pasta is such a high profit item that for the price, there is not much tolerance for errors like dry rubbery shrimps. You could see visibly how dried out they were that the server should have probably told us that it didn't look right and recomend something else. I look forward to giving it another try soon.
Went there last night with 9 people. They accommodated us with no problem. Food was delicious. We tried about everything on the menu. Service was very quick even though the restaurant was full Definitely a return visit in the future
Some of the best Italian in the state, great service, very clean, good atmosphere. The Cajun Chicken is delicious for those spice lovers out there. Would come back and recommend to friends.
Huge portions at a real steal for the prices. The full portion was enough for 2-3 people. The owners definitely listened to the reviews. Adding the portion sizes to the menu in more detail would be great! Quiet, small place that was perfect for the 5 of us for dinner and the waitress was very attentive. Will definitely be back next time we’re in town!
Friendly service, delicious food, over-sized portions, for sure, and nice, clean atmosphere. Chicken Carbonara was delicious. Prices are right on par. Only complaint was bread (bread service) was a little dry and fresh-baked bread would definitely seal the deal for me, as a replacement! Not a deal breaker at all, though. Plenty happy with all aspects of dinner, tonight, and we'll definitely be back! Best Italian food in Delaware!
Food was delicious, I knocked it down for a few reasons.#1 include the bread, for the price that should just come with meal.#2 offer some kind of lunch deals, not really setup to handle in and out lunch break crowd or carry out. Nice "date" place, but I don't think I would swing back through for a lunch considering portions/prices.#3 pricing, this goes with the above, $13 for pasta ( not the biggest portion) with no meat or bread is a little up there, it was good but wouldn't be a frequent pickup for me.Create some $10-$12 lunch options, small pasta, meatball and a piece of bread and I would be eating lunch there a lot.
