We had never been here before today. We live in delaware and decided we wanted to try a new restaurant. It was So incredibly disappointing. We waited an hour+ for our food and they weren’t even busy. The women sitting behind us walked in when we did. They ate, paid and left, while we still waited another 20+ minutes for our food. 45 minutes after we ordered, they came to tell my husband they were out of pulled pork… 45 minutes in and they hadn’t even started our order. My kids age 3 and 6 were getting impatient. You don’t expect to wait an hour for food when the restaurant is basically empty. My food was cold and overcooked. My 3 year olds bacon was burnt. He loves bacon cheeseburgers. He took one bite and said yucky it’s black. He wouldn’t take another bite. The kids grilled cheese is not like a kids sandwich at all. It’s “Fancy” grilled cheese which no child wants. And my husband said his sandwich was mediocre. The fries would have been tasty if they were hot but sadly they weren’t so I’m not sure what they were cooking that took so long that our other food was clearly just sitting. Overall the place was overpriced for overcooked food that took forever to get. Not a single apology for how long it was taking. The wait staff stood around and chatted but was not attentive to us at all. The only saving grace was that they had some funny animals show on tv which kept my kids entertained as we waited and waited and waited for a disappointing meal. We will never try it again.
Food was amazing and service was great too!
Delaware, Ohio…small town feel with a big city attitude, especially when it comes to food.Whether it be coffee, pastries, banking, cigars, or eye appointments, Sandusky is the main vein in downtown Delaware.I didn’t have breakfast before my weekend venture, and I’m happy I didn’t! I did the usual Google search for food, and was pleasantly surprised to see this little spot pop up. It’s an Ale House, but don’t let the smooth taste fool you because I might have to offend the pub and call it a breakfast house. The breakfast menu has the typical items we’ve come to love over the years, and we both chose the chicken and waffles.Let me start by saying the breast was much larger than I anticipated. ( no, this isn’t a “that’s what” moment…well sure, go ahead). But yes, I’m used to getting chicken tenders when I order the meal at other places, so the size of the meat was worth 3 stars alone! (Again, insert “dad” joke here). The chicken was crisp, tender, moist, and paired with the homemade spicy honey they boasted about on the menu, was a satisfying meal in itself. I wish the honey had a bit more kick in the spice department, but that’s my personal preference.I wish I could give the waffle as much love and adoration, but I can’t. The waffle got lost under the meat and didn’t rise to my expectations. The customer service was great! Our server was engaging, funny, and attentive. We’ll definitely have to try this place again to check out some of the drinks and IPAs. I saw a drink called “ Jolene”. It looked like something I’ll try on my next visit. Now I’m reading my review…Jolene…chicken description…Dolly would be proud. I promise that’s not the path I was on when I started. If you’re ever in Delaware, please take a moment to stop in this little hometown favorite.
We used to go here regularly, but over the last two months we’ve been here twice. It seems every time we go back the service and food quality decreases. When we were here in January with a party of six we waited over an hour for our food, which was just okay. We went back last night with a party of three and waited about an hour for our food, which again, was just okay. The menu has been drastically reduced since the end of 2021. The beer cheese and rye croutons are still amazing, but the ribs and burgers are now just okay. We do not plan on returning.
Really nice place. The location isn't the best for parking but we got it figured out pretty quick. The service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. I would recommend everyone give it a try. I will most definitely be back.
Pro: server was friendly and responsive. Sweet potato fries wonderful. Con: Frisco patty melt burned and not seasoned. White cheddar mashed potatoes tasted as if they came out of a box and were borderline cold. My friend’s pulled chicken sandwich was extremely dry. Good flavor but hard to eat. Not inclined to return. Other places in town with better food.
Trash will never go there again. Ribs Traash absolutely worst place ever
The Frisco Melt is an excellent classic. Can’t go wrong!
Small quaint setting. Wonderful staff, and most importantly great food and spirits. Definitely recommend stopping in for your favorites,if you don't have one you will.
Have been coming here for about 2 years...sometimes good, sometimes bad..now they are so expensive we can no longer overlook the bad. You priced yourself right out of a customer. Ridiculous $$$ for such low quality food.
