The food here never ever disappoints. Tonight I had the croque monsieur and it surpassed all of my expectations. The cheese stretched my arm’s length when I took a bite! My husband loves the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and we truly look forward to their deviled eggs! The menu is upscale and creative without being pretentious or overpriced. Takeout orders are always hot, well packaged, and accurate. The atmosphere is fun, upbeat small-town/college bar in the evenings but not too loud or wild. Great Delaware spot!
Food was good. Only patrons on a weekday mid-afternoon. Might be a great night spot but we won't be back. Ordered a pound of wings for $13 and got 7 average size wings..not a pound by far. Not a fan of being taken advantage of.
Everything we ordered was freshly prepared and well above average for pub food. French onion melt with roast beef was very good.
Employees were very nice. My chicken (in a Caesar wrap) was over cooked, tough and chewy. My husband's burger was just ok.
Enjoyable atmosphere, cozy with good food. Service was good with attentive wait team. Prices are reasonable.
We were not really sure what to think when we first went. We had our teenage daughters with us and looked very much like a bar. The bar environment turned to be very tame. The food was outstanding. We now go a couple times a month.

The menu at The Backstretch is incredible. It is unique and unexpected. I ordered the Summer Tacos which had roasted cauliflower and walnut taco mix, black beans, avocados, pickled red onions and creamy cilantro sauce. It came with a delicious corn and black bean salsa. Highly recommended.
