Update: Not what it used to be. I miss the old Canton._______________________________Canton is a small little family-run place that has been a staple of Delaware for almost 20 years now. Good Chinese (American) food - inexpensive. How this place has a 4.1 rating is beyond me. The food is soggy, the rice is old...The rice to food ratio is completely off. DO not waste your time unless you plan eating...never.Absolutely AWEFUL.
I loved the old Canton the sauces were the best I have ever had and plenty of it on the dishes. I tried the restaurant after new ownership 4 times now. It is more expensive but I realize inflation is greater. The portions are smaller and no extras we used to get like the rib and wonton and roll with a dinner. Each time the food progressively got worse. It was ok but the last time it was bad. We got a soup that was really good the time before but was inedible this last time. My General Tso's had tough meat and very very little sauce. I give up no more Cantons for me.
A bit overpriced. Hot and sour soup okay. Pot stickers were filled with air and chewy. I ordered chicken with green beans with fried rice. Chicken doesn’t taste fresh. Beans are okay. Sauce is very liquidy (like water). Fried rice has no vegetables, is a weird yellow color and has an unusually sweet flavor. Tried it once - never again.
Went south after change in ownership. Higher prices, lower quality. Everything tastes like fryer grease.Bummer. This place was the best in Delaware until the change. We still eat here from time to time due to convenience but, the other places on the outside of town are a peg above now.
The lo mein was very unappetizing. Poor quality meat. Linguine noodles with poor flavor. Very odd.
This restaurant is under new management. And the food is not very good. Picked up a carry out order today is August 25, 2021. The website under Canton restaurant is not the current menu you have to go to google and then google Canton restaurant on Sandusky Street.
We are so excited that Cantons is open again. New ownership but the food actually tasted fresher than before. menu Items were a little different than before but we will figure that out Welcome to Delaware New Owners!
Soo...we have been LOYAL CUSTOMERS to Cantons for YEARS...We've been Soo Nervous 2 try it under new ownership. That being said...Husband and I decided 2 give it a shot tonight. I only order chicken fried rice. Tasted Exactly the same!!!! So happy! Husband only orders sweet n sour chicken...came with unexpected vegetables...ended up being a great side. But 2 b served on side not with the chicken(soggy)Overall good food.
Canton is under new management and the food was excellent. Even though it’s not the same chefs, the food is up to par. Go out and try the new Cantons. Money well spent
