Love this place! Cozy little sushi bar right by Schuster Center. My wife and I tried it tonight before our show and we love the vibe. We both ordered drinks and sushi. Drinks are unique and delicious! My wife was not a fan of her drink (too strong for her taste) and they made her a replacement right away. The sushi is made meticulously and with care, and the staff are very attentive and friendly. Also a bonus (for me), they had Star Trek TOS playing:-)
I ordered their sushi bake, I enjoyed it. I will be back to try other things.
Ok this place is legit!!! We were going to a show at the Schuster and saw the reviews for Zen and knew we had to try it. Greeted right away by Tory who was behind the bar. She had great, spot-on drink recommendations. Ordered five sushi rolls and enjoyed our drink. Sushi came right out…Holy Moly!! So good!! Music, atmosphere, drinks and food were all top-notch!!
I was visiting Dayton and walking along the downtown area looking for a restaurant on my Maps app and this restaurant was not even listed. Tiny sign out front and I asked someone in the outside area if it was a restaurant. He responded that it was a new sushi restaurant with good food and lots more people finding out about it. I enjoyed it thoroughly. A great atmosphere. Nice staff. Good food. Ambience was nice. Karaoke offered on certain nights. Will eat there again.
My husband and I walked in. We weren't even greeted . We were confused if we seat our self or not. There's no signs. A couple before us had to order at the bar just to let them know they were there. Music was so loud I couldn't even have a conversation with my partner. The waitress told us our waters were at the bar if we wanted to get them right as we were leaving. The prices were ok if we had better service. We didn't even order we left because we were not even acknowledged. If you want a alcoholic beverage this is the place to go. However, my husband and I came for the sushi and was very disappointed. I don't even understand how this place has 5 stars. Very misleading.
Very good food! I like the sushi burritos and the Miso soup. They also have happy hour from 3-6pm everyday which is wild. Drinks are a bit strong but the staff is very friendly.
By far , my new favorite ! Fantastic menu, highly skilled chef and the staff are the bench mark of friendly and professional . Just a stones throw from the Schuster Center. Don’t hesitate , go and support a exceptional local restaurant ! Oh yeah … and the Sake selection is killer ! 5 stars ! Will be back as soon as possible
We were at Zen this past Saturday for the 1st time, and it was amazing! When you go you have to try the ZEN roll and the Buckeye, they were the best I think I've ever had! We were there at a slower time, and we had a great time with the staff they made us feel very welcome! We would make the 2-hour drive again! I'd give you 6 stars if I could! Keep up the GREAT JOB!
Terrific place for sushi. You wouldn't normally expect such good Asian fare from a tiny, downtown hole in the wall restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised.
Good sushi. Strong drinks. Nice atmosphere. Great service. I will be back
