Food was great, and the service was above and beyond! Definitely making this place my pre-show dinner from now on.
After living in Dayton the majority of my life I couldn't tell you how many times I walked past in those pizza well me and my son finally stopped in a few days ago and I am so glad I did it was phenomenal they actually take the time to make great pizza my son had a sandwich it was out of this world definitely coming back our waiter was cool the place was really really nice excellent service five stars ?
Service was slow, food wasn’t great, no drink menu at all…
Came in for a Tuesday evening dinner and drinks with my hubby. We have been trying different restaurants and bars in the Dayton, Ohio area. We ended up being followed down the ally for a block. Lil sketchy but we really wanted that beer and pizza. The greeter at the door did not seem to be enthusiastic about her job. We asked if we could sit at the bar and have a menu and she got a little smart with us about having a menu. Once again we still really wanted that pizza and beer. We sat in a nearly empty restaurant for about eight minutes with no bartender or server to be seen. Eventually a gentleman walks from the alley where we had seen him taking his smoke break right before coming inside. He walks up ask us what we want to drink. My hubby asked if there was a drink menu. The bartender or server whatever he was he didn’t introduced himself as anything he looks down and without an ounce of customer service and says “no not really.” What?! When I tell you my husband and I looked to each other and without a second thought stood up and walked out. I tip very well even when service isn’t the absolute best but for us to just want to walk out because the environment was not inviting the staff did not care about their job whatsoever. No fake smiles and no helpful advice. We were their inconvenience. So we took that inconvenience of cash right out that door.
Let’s start by saying the Cheese and tomato pizza was pretty damn good! I have to give complete props to the evening manager Sam as to why this is even a five star review. Realistically my initial experience was more of a 1 star rating. Unfortunately the new hostess took my order wrong while we were on the phone even though I was 100% sure we were talking about the same thing because she had been explaining prices to me that matched with what I saw online. I ordered two deep dish regular sized cheese and tomato pizzas and what I received were two regular classic deep dish. ( My bf doesn’t eat meat and this has sausage ) After a long day of work I didn’t think to check the pizza at the restaurant and lets just say we were disappointed to see we got the wrong pizza! I called immediately and the manager Sam answered, I explained what happened and she said that she could make us the correct pizzas; this is 15 minutes before closing. At the end of the night, we were able to get the right pizza and Sam truly made having to come back to the restaurant worth it! She was extremely professional and I appreciated her going the extra mile even after the store “closed”.
Place was not busy at all. Service was good, but super slow. Food is good, but not great! Espically for the prices.. we tried a new place, but will not be returning
We love this pizza. We had it last night and my husband and I wish it was open right now to go get more. Glad this restaurant has stood the test of downtown Dayton. It’s a definite highlight.
I forgot my servers name? but she Was Awesome 2/26 was her birthday and she still did her job to the fullest extent food was great will definitely be back
Before last year, I had not been to an Uno Pizzeria & Grill in many years. The last time I had been was in Maryland, 10 years ago. We had a large party and had all sorts of issues. I was less than impressed and never had a desire to go back.Being back in Dayton, and having one close by, I decided to try them again. I placed two orders in a row with issues. Burnt chicken on the chicken parm, toppings missing from the pizza, overcooked lasagna noodles, and things just overall not as expected.I got in touch with the manager, Joe, and he was very receptive to my feedback. He even said that they were tweaking the chicken parm recipe, since that was one dish that we had repeated issues with. I'll be damned, they actually did it!I have said it before, and this is a HUGE testament to the fact that management can make or break your experience. Uno's isn't my favorite Italian restaurant. But because the manager followed up with me, and really took my feedback to heart, it makes me appreciate this place so much more!
Very delicious. We used to go to stores in Columbus Ohio but they have been closed for years. Found out this one in Dayton Ohio is the only one left in the state. Worth the 2 hour drive.
