I ordered a triple berry oat with peanut butter and was shocked that I was paying nearly 8$ (7.98) when the tropical smoothie I normally go to (not even 30 minutes away) is 5.98. Why am i paying 2$ more for this location? Also, the peanut butter I payed extra for wasn’t even in the smoothie (and if it was, there wasn’t enough because the color wasn’t the same and I didn’t taste it at all. The customer service was nice as the cashier was kind and whoever answered the phone was helpful. the smoothie just wasn’t good and isn’t what I paid for (especially since it’s more for this location).
Food is usually pretty good but the take a very long time completing orders. I placed an online order at 1:40 and it said it would be done at 2:05. It’s 2:24 and Its still not done. I understand it is the summer and it is very busy, but it’s kind of unfortunate when they set a done time, and they don’t uphold to that time within almost 20 minutes.

This was a great place until recently. I hate to post anything negative, but I was treated so poorly that it needs to be out there. The HIGHLIGHTS: My coupon (from the bottom of a previous receipt) was not accepted, even though they’ve been accepting the same kind of coupon for YEARS (no expiration printed on it); the owner accused me of not giving the coupon to the cashier each time (when even she herself has rang me out and watched me hand her the coupon); she also accused me of bringing a coupon from somewhere else (“This could be from Shell for all I know!”); the owner, who treated me like I was part of the family before, suddenly treated me like I didn’t matter and she did not care. I got the “F—- OFF!” look from her. I’m a very bright and friendly person. This was uncalled for.The story: I’ve used coupons that print at the bottom of the receipt, always gave them to the cashier. They do not have an expiration date printed on them or anywhere on the receipt. They do not say they need to be attached to the rest of the receipt or used within a certain timeframe. However, these are reasons the owner said she would not accept my coupon. “We won’t be accepting this,” she said. No kindness in her voice. She accused me of bringing the same coupon with me and never giving it to the cashier, as well as using a coupon from the nearby Shell station. Which is random because I don’t go there.Prior to this, she was kind, sometimes warm. I understand owning a business and I understand working long hours, so I appreciated her acting in the past like she would take care of her good customers. I came at least twice a week. I spent close to $40/week at her store. It takes a lot to upset me, but now im done. Just want this to be out there so hopefully she will treat people better. There was no talking to her, unfortunately.Example receipt…
This place has always been a 5 Star restaurant. Sorry, I no longer feel this way. I ordered the meal deal of salad, chips and smoothie. The Kiwi Strawberry smoothie was not good and I expressed the fruits must still not be in season. The counter person was perturbed with me; throwing it out and stating she would make another. I said, I wouldn't prefer the same may I have the Strawberry Banana instead. Upon receiving this one and walking toward the door, I took a sip; equally, not good. I asked a gentleman who was sitting in front of me how his was, he said not good but he doctored it.COME ON Tropiical Smoothie; you're going to lose a lot of business if your smoothies are this distasteful!
The smoothie tasted like something that could easily be made at home for a lower price. Not that it was bad. The sandwich was great though.
Stopped by this location on Miamisburg Centerville Rd. tonight at 8:30pm. The store hours on their Facebook and on google state they are open till 9pm. Two employees closed up the store and were walking outside. My husband made a comment to the two workers that their hours need updated on google and Facebook. The one lady responded, yeh I will get right on that and laughed. The lady made a claim that she owned it with her wife. So if true, now knowing what one of the owners is like for that store, we will never be back. That lady could care less if people drive to the store when closed because it is not important enough to update the store hours on the web or even show appreciation for a customer trying to better her business.
Terrible experience today. Witnessed two employees making smoothies without gloves, accessing both levels of their refrigerator and multiple ingredients in the process. One of them had previously been working the register and went directly to making smoothies, didnt even wash her hands. I asked if that was the normal procedure and was informed it was. I asked to cancel my order and was met with what I assume was the manager Betty. She was immediately hostile towards me, accused me of harassing her employees, and wouldn't even look at me while I tried to explain the situation that led me to want to cancel. I tried to educate her on the FDA requirements for food preparation but she cut me off everytime or wouldn't acknowledge anything I said. I was a health inspector for 2 years. She was so irate about the situation that she gave me cash to hurry me out of the store when I paid with credit card. When I asked for her manager to file a complaint she said that I needed to do it online. Overall, terrible service, worse customer service, and horrible food safety practices. The icing on the cake is there was a box of gloves not even 5 feet from the food preparation area, right beside the sink. I will not be going to any Tropical Smoothie locations again.
Very disappointed to find out this location has sold to all new people. They are extremely slow and not at all as efficient as prior workers. I do not for see going here as often as before, which was several times a week. SMH.
Extremely displeased with the service when I was at this location today. I come here very frequently and have never experienced such horrible customer service. When I walked in there was 2 people at the register being extremely loud, feeling each other’s arms up and down, and not paying attention to the people in line. I looked at them and said hello because I had not yet even been greeted. Both employees walked away and another came to take my order. As i was waiting they continued to be extremely loud and obnoxious and more people were at the counter not being waited on.
