We catered our graduation/cinco de mayo party food from here and it was absolutely delicious! Everyone loved it! There was plenty of food and the quality was excellent! I highly recommend it to anyone in the Dayton area!
Simply the best food in its class. They do everything perfectly. And this is real! The spicy is spicy, everything is tasty, and I can tell you from personal experience that the dishes prepared here are legitimate. I have tried pretty much everything on the menu at one time or another and the only problem is that they are all delicious. For me the real test is shrimp - so many (almost all) restaurants do not know how to handle shrimp. Taqueria Mixteca does shrimp to perfection and you cannot go wrong with any of the many menu items that feature them. That said they get all the meat done in an excellent way and in particular they steak is very good. Shrimp and steak are two things I normally don't order because they usually aren't good, but I get them all the time here. Taqueria Mexteca is just a great local family owned place and you will definitely be glad you ate here.
The salsas were good. I ordered 4 tacos, shredded goat, Al pastor, carnitas, and chorizo. Overall they were just ok. None of the meats were particularly flavorful and all were pretty mushy in texture.
I love the food here. And even the lunch plates are plenty. Taco salad was the best I've ever had. Service is always great and pleasurable.It doesn't look like much, but really is great!
Surrounded by pawn shops and Big daddys drive through, dont let that, or its run down sign and flickering lights keep you away. This place has the best, most authentic mexican in dayton. Service was fast and accurate, great quality
Only the best Mexican food around! I always get a taco salad, husband and kids get chimichangas and they are always perfect!!
Probably the best Mexican that I've had! Both my wife and I thought our meals were amazing! She got the Fajitas Lunch Special and I got a Shrimp Chimichanga with Fries. Not that you expect amazing fries from a Mexican place, but their fries were amazing, especially dipped in the cheese dip. My only complaint food-wise would be that the cheese dip was way too spicy for my kids.The building could definitely use some help. But I didn't go there for a nice building. I went for great Mexican, and they delivered!
Food was amazing! There service was so friendly. The biggest thing was how the help their community. A homeless gentleman came in with no shoes and had a new pair waiting for him by the time he was done eating a meal given to him by the waitress.I offered to pay for his meal but the waitress stated that he comes in every now and then, they're happy take care of him.This place has such a good heart.
The restaurant is clean and efficient, the service was excellent. The prices are modest and the food is great. Prepared with real spices and seasonings and not just salt. Generous, filling portions. Definitely worth the trip. Plus you can order online and get it to go. We will be back.
Small place. Okay food. The tortillas that they use for the tacos are literally from Walmart (probably), nothing special. Wouldn’t recommend their shrimp or fish items. Meat dishes are good.
