I have been wanting to try this restaurant , but after reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant. I ended up going with a friend on a Saturday evening and the meal turned out to be delicious and the server Vanessa was awesome, I'm so glad I chose to try this restaurant. Our meal started off with calamari strips, pan seared Ahi Tuna, a cup of clam chowder, a cup of lobster bisque and the complimentary bread. Our main courses were the crab cakes with brown sugar sweet potatoes and the poseidon salad. Every item that we tried was fantastic and we really enjoyed the atmosphere there. We will definitely be returning to try other items in the future.

My wife and I were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and tried Sweeney's. Looking for a good seafood dinner and experience. Turned out to be a horrible dinner for both of us. The service was so so, had to remind the waitress to bring our bread after we had already eaten our salads. My dinner was the Italian scallops with a balsamic reduction with gorgonzola cheese and sauteed spinach. The spinach was drenched with the reduction and the scallops had a gritty taste to them and bad taste. My wife tried them and stated they were probably bad scallops. Her entree was the almond encrusted rainbow trout. It was overcooked, and needed tarter sauce just to be able to swallow it. The rice pilaf that came with it was bland. If you like seafood, avoid this place. Its also way overpriced for what you get.

Finally visited this local seafood restaurant and was not disappointed (except that it took us this long to stop in!). Douglas at the bar started the evening off right while we waited for our table. Despite a busy night and no reservations, they got us in very quickly.Libby then took over and was great! Food was fantastic! Definitely coming back to try more items on the menu. Thanks for a great night out!

Good place to go with friends to enjoy a great seafood dinner. I loved that we weren't rushed through our meal and we could take our time and enjoy everything.

We had an amazing return visit to celebrate my husband's birthday and had an awesome server who really catered to my daughter and us. We did not have an rsvp but were seated quickly and enjoyed the atmosphere. All of our food tasted delicious and I didn't even look at the menu because I knew what I wanted since it was so memorable from our first visit-the crab cakes! They melt in your mouth! We also really love the crab Rangoon egg roll but it is a small portion because it's on the special appetizer list.We brought a cake and they were on it with bringing a huge knife, plates and clean forks for us. Libby was an awesome waitress and my daughter called her a BFF so she spoke to her directly not just like a kid and we liked that.Other party members really enjoyed their meals such as lobster bisque, ahi tuna, and shrimp. Will return again.Beware the parking lot is tricky and in the back but once you know how to navigate it... It's fine.

Great service, amazing food and a beautiful place. A++

The restaurant was very cold. We even asked to go move but it was still cold. My wife loved her coconut shrimp. I had the seafood stew, it was good but not much seafood in it.

Food was beyond expectations! Wine and beer menu, great choices. Service people are very attentive.

The mussels were terrible, they did take them off the bill. The rest of the food was ok, it definitely wasn't the best seafood I ever had.

We have dined at Sweeney’s many times over the years. It had always been our go-to place for great seafood and service. Unfortunately, the last couple of times we have gone, the food had been sub par but always have had great service. We decided to try it again tonight as we love to support local businesses. On arrival, we observed a disheveled woman come from the side of the building to a car in the parking lot. We went inside and was seated. The woman from the parking lot was our server. Upon taking our order, we could immediately notice she wasn’t acting right and high on something. We waited for our drinks. Not too far behind us a couple of gentleman were seated to our left and were also high on something and obviously acquaintances of hers. One could assume they were in the car she visited in the parking lot. These gentlemen were laying on the floor under the table, served their salads before ours (ordered well before they had) and ate and picked their salads with their fingers. Throughout observing this, they left the table a half dozen times to go to the bathroom or outside. One gentleman, laid his salad plate under the table on the floor when he was finished and our waitress went under there to get it. There were other issues, but you get the picture. I asked to speak with Lisa, the owner as a I felt she needed to be aware before other patrons were seated in this section. I asked for a new waiter as I didn’t want her grabbing our food and drinks with unwashed hands. Lisa was defensive over the server stating she had been with her since 2 o’clock. I let her know I was just wanting her to know because of liking the business and wanting to help her. Long story short, we won’t be back. Not the service or food expected when spending 150+ for a couple to dine. If you decide to go, ask for Adam. He’s always served us well and ended up serving us the remainder of our meal.
