My wife & I stopped in to South Park Tavern this afternoon to have a little lunch before knocking out our the errands we had. It’s the 1st time we’ve both been in this establishment to eat a meal. We were instantly greeted by this cool cat named Weston! He was handling the entire bar & the rest of the restaurant all by himself… and killing it I might add! We started our lunch off with some tasty Loaded Tavern Fries & a bada$$ Root Beer that was straight from the tap. We then crushed the South Park Signature Sub like it was our job! Thanks again Weston, we cannot wait to come back & test out the pizza!
I have never been in an establishment with such bad service. My wife and I order a pizza and chicken wings, after 1 hour and 30 minutes later nothing. People who had come in 30 minutes after us were receiving pizza and wings. I asked the waitress to take it off the bill and call it a day but she said let me check on it. She came back to inform us that the food we order 1 and 1/2 hours ago would be ready soon. I have eaten at this establishment many times but this was our last time.
We went at 2pm on May 5th and the server didn't seem to care about our order. I got a medium pizza, fries and 2 beers. It took 40 mins in an almost empty bar to get food. No one else had food when we arrived. I watched them serve 3 other tables that came 20 mins after we ordered. They all got their food first and were eating as we left. It took so long we asked for it To Go instead. I paid for a medium pizza and got a small pizza instead. I'm so shocked at this service because the 1st time we came, the bartender was amazing! This. was the opposite of that experience.
I ordered 2 pizzas. I was an Italian and the other a vegan my friend loved hers. She said ‘so good I can’t stop eating it!!!!’ Mine honestly was the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had!!!! Soooo good!! Next time I’m in Dayton Ohio I’m gonna make sure I get back there. I’m hungry for it just thinking about it. Also great service!!! Very polite!
It used to be good. They were always slow, but it was still good. Our last visit, the food took longer than usual, was warm at best when we finally got it and the guy that works there is annoying. As in seriously annoying. I’m sure some people enjoy/tolerate him. We tolerated him because we had to; he was solely responsible for getting our food to us. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll go back.
Just had the worst experience. Waited 1.5 hours to get two pizzas. Told us we would have our pizza in 10 minutes when we complained but 25 minutes later still no pizzas. We asked several times to see manager but never got to see him because "he stepped out" Customers that come in way later than us had their food. We could not believe the poor customer service. We ask is they could comp us our pizzas as we had to leave and were told if you want to take them we had to pay.
The pizzas here are delicious! This guy, Ivan, does a great job of taking care of customers as well as preparing the food. The owner is really nice, too. Great pizza specials on Monday nights. Buy any lg/xlg pizza and get 1/2off! Need to come try this!
Worst service ever in my life, and I am a very patient person. I heard from a friend this pizza would be better than Wheat Penny (my fav.), so we decided to try it last night. After an hour and twenty minuets, we asked where our food was and the server said it would be another 20min. I think they forgot to put in our order. We then just paid for our drinks and left. They didn't even make an attempt to make things right nor did they care. The table next to us got there at the same time as us, got their food, another couple sat down, and got their food. Too bad this review will have zero effect on their service in the future, but, ya gotta try.
I go there once or twice a month for open mic. The place is a very typical homey bar and they really support musicians, good and bad! Prices are reasonable and the pizza is really good.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have tried to support as many local restaurants as possible. We have given South Park Tavern many chances and they just aren’t cutting it. Every pick up order has a 45 to 60 minute wait time… Which wouldn’t be so bad, except that when you arrive at the designated time to pick up the order, there is frequently (read ALWAYS) an issue and it is not ready even after the excessive lead time. The most recent was a Sunday evening. We called in the order at 5:15 PM and we were told it would be ready in 45 minutes. I arrived at 6 PM and there were only about eight people at the restaurant, and only two tables that had ordered food. I was told there was “an issue with DoorDash” and our order would take another 8 to 10 minutes to be ready. True to form, it was quite a bit than that that I sat in the restaurant waiting for the order. We are in January 2022, these kinds of issues should have been ironed out a year ago. It’s unfortunate, because we do love the food and want to support South Park Tavern, but it is getting increasingly difficult to do so when we are consistently disappointed with the service.
