My wife and I both got the "brisket", but I don't believe it actually was brisket. Everyone knows brisket is sliced thin, but we both received what looked like a large chunk of pot roast. There was ZERO smokey flavor, no seasoned rub of any kind, and not a drop of BBQ sauce just a bland hunk of beef! All of the seasoning must have fallen into the green beans because they were so salty they were borderline inedible. The cheese on the Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a can and from a BBQ place I expected it to be baked. The price was good, but I will never return.
Love this place! Anyone driving thru (Dayton Ohio) or on a visit should definitely try this place out. We ate here 3 days in a row and definitely the best part of our visit. I wish we had a location up here. The food is melt in your mouth delicious, staff are always friendly. I have not 1 negative thing to say about this place. Did I mention how delicious the food is?
I absolutely LOVE this place but today my feelings were hurt I came to get their absolutely delicious smoked wings only to find out that to warm them up THEY ARE FRIED….my mouth hurts from trying to eat these wings I so do not understand how sometimes the wings are perfectly smoked tender and juicy AND THEN you get this like chicken jerky situation going on that is truly NOT EDIBLE! I will not give up on Smokin because they really do make GREAT food..,.I guess we all have BAD days sometimes?
Smokin Bar-B-Que is a hidden gem in the Gem City. The food is very very good. Had the burger with burnt ends and my goodness it was good.They do a really good job here making sure everyone is taken care. Only thing I would say is that when they were making the chips is to do less chips so they can cook evenly. Other than that everything is good.
I've been working here since August 2005, but left for a few yrs and started back in 2010 and I've been here since then. Love my costumers that are dedicated to this place. The ppl I work with are pretty cool too. We cook to profession around here, with our heart and soul! Just can't ask for a better BBQ joint in the Downtown Dayton Oregon District!! Gave fast and amazing service. Great food. And handled demanding customers amazingly. Would recommend to anyone hungry in the area.

I ate lunch there today. While I was eating I watched the cook who just served me sneeze on the cutting board where the condiments are kept without covering her mouth them she coughed on the air in the kitchen without covering her mouth then she blew her nose on a napkin and there it in the kitchen garbage and never washed her hands once. Before I left I brought it to her attention and she said nothing and just stared at me. I was sickened at the thought that this person prepared and served my meal.
ordered two bbq platters with slaw and 5 smoked wings. it was our first visit and the food was fantastic. the meat with the sauce was juicy and fresh. The slaw was perfect for this BBQ. not too sweet. For 8 pm on a Monday night, this was great.
