Decided to give it another try. A mistake. Ordered the chicken salad with NO greens but with everything else (tomatoes, etc..). When it came it was loaded with greens. When I pulled them off, all that was left was a sad miniscule smear of chicken salad. Flatbread had almost no cheese, and their sauce tastes weirdly like...baby food.We used to like Panera a lot, but lately it seems that, especially when I have it delivered, the quality has gone downhill. The last couple times our bagels were hard as a rock upon delivery, and our favorite creamy wild rice and chicken soup was super watered down and not creamy at all. I don't know if they're adding extra water to stretch it out or what, but it's happened a couple times now and it really is disappointing.
I generally love Panera and eat here multiple times a week. However, they incorrectly made my sandwich at the N Fairfield location and I drove away without realizing it. I was close to this location when I realized. The manager refused to remake the sandwich (it was no meat, it had lettuce, tomato, and cheese) bc it would "hurt their bottom line." Apparently Panera can't spare $2 in ingredients for a good customer experience. The manager told me I had to return to the original Panera so "they know they made it wrong." Quite frankly, it was an idiotic transaction. I ordered from Panera, they made it wrong and then refused to fix it bc they do not care.
Had a sausage egg and cheese on Brioche bun and couldn't even taste anything but the egg really. Could've went somewhere else for cheaper so was a little disappointed. The actual facility was clean, and wasn't so busy, and it's new so it's up to date on technology.
Panera bread offers the best vegetarian flat breads, soups and sandwiches.
I took my mom in for lunch today. Everything was great! I was really struck by how gracious the manager was with his staff. It’s not something you see much these days. I even overheard our cashier tell a customer how “he works as hard as any of us. As we were leaving, I saw him rolling out a can of trash to the dumpster. I have the utmost respect for a leader that will do every job he/she asks of their staff.
Food quality is wonderful, although the price for a slice of bread is almost the cost of a gallon of gas now a days haha. Not the staffing at blame just not much of a “meal”
I have a new favorite Panera pizza: sausage and pepperoni.
They must have had a great day because they were out a lot of things but my meal ended up being really good it's really good.
