From out of town and Old Scratch was recommended as good pizza. We visited and found the pizza to be very good. I had a classic pepperoni and my wife had the specialty chicken & bacon white pizza. The pizzas were cooked in igloo shaped wood fired ovens giving the crust that special flavor. Easy ordering, good service, decent price, great pizza.
I shared their most popular pizza, The Dayton. It's pepperoni. But it's a lot of pepperoni and they are tasty! The mozzarella is applied liberally, and has a nice smoky flavor. I love the sauce and ate it all the way to the crust! Reminiscent of the best oven fired NY style pizzas that I've had. In New York. I will definitely be returning!
We were from out of town and this place was suggested. We had seven in our group. This place kind handle any size of groups. Plenty of space for special gatherings and you are able to spread out in this building. We ordered our diffenent pizzas at the counter when we came in. They have other counters located in the resturant for drinks, ice cream and other items. It is a fun atmosphere that kids and adults can enjoy!
We love Old Scratch Pizza, mainly the Downtown Dayton location. We've always had good service and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. Its hard to find good, real woodfire pizza that tastes like 'home'.
Favorite Dayton area pizza place!Excellent wood fire pizza with creative combinations. The Angry Beekeeper is great and my other favorite is the Dayton with bacon and roasted garlic!Can be a bit of a wait during peak hours due to busyness, but fun atmosphere doesn't make it seem long.
First time we went we weren’t very impressed. Reached out about our order and they made it right. We’ve been back multiple times since Ans it’s been great. Now our go to curbside pick up.
Ordered a mushroom pizza and a regular side salad for lunch today. I think they let my pizza get to close to the flame/coals The crust was charred way more than it should have been so each bite tasted like charcoal. I had a hard time choking it down and I was SO looking forward to a yummy pizza! the only thing that remotely helped was the ranch dressing I got on the side. I also got the butter sauce but it tasted like it had marinated seafood and then been put in a container. Maybe it was vegan? don't know but yuck! At least my salad was banging as always!
I tried Old Scratch for the first time yesterday and it was worth the wait. I tried the cauliflower, chicken sausage pizza and applewood salad. All was delish. I will be back.
Pizza is amazing. Beer choices are great if you are a beer drinker. Liquor choice are a little less to desirable. But the pizza is too notch.
Wonderful pizza place that offers something for every pizza lover. On our first visit there, my sister ordered their grilled cauliflower appetizer, and now I have to order it every time -- so good!!
