This is hard for me. I have loved Meadowlarks food for awhile. We started eating here around the beginning of the pandemic and have always gotten curbside. Usually that's great albeit they've forgotten a few things here and there but never really any meal ruining mistakes. Today we made our first venture inside for dining. We arrived slightly before opening and with it being hot outside decided to let everyone else form a line to get in and we would wait in the car until the doors were opened. When that happened we headed in to find an pretty long and slow line to be seated which was a bummer but again not a deal breaker. We were finally seated, ordered drinks a some fruit for our toddler to keep her busy as she was getting hangry by this point. We eventually were able to place our entree order and I don't know what happened next. My husband was brought his soup, my daughter was brought her meal, and I was left there sad faced, pregnant, and starving. I was cool to wait a bit but it was going on 40+ minutes since we had ordered and I was pretty ravenous at this point and had a doctor's exam to head to. We asked for the food to go and I tried eating in the car but overall it ruined the experience for me and just wasn't as good. The food is still great, everyone is friendly enough, I'm just not a fan of the dining in experience and probably won't ever attempt that again here.
Love Meadowlark! My crab spaghetti was perfect and full of flavor. My daughters halibut was bland, I did taste it. She said the whole dish was a disappointment. I didn't taste the rice. The halibut was cooked really well but for what she paid I expect more.I used to own a fine dining restaurant so I know flies are inevitable but these were quite large .We killed 1 and there were still a couple buzzing around.I haven't been in a while and it may be awhile before I return.
Had a Grilled Cheese with white cheddar cheese and asparagus. Fries were fantastic, but tooooo many!
Wonderful service and delicious food. The Vegan vanilla coconut ice cream is heavenly! Happy Birthday to me ♥️
casual atmosphere. newer, interesting dishes. I'll definitely be back
We went for lunch to celebrate my birthday. Not what we expected. Started with our initial interaction with the waiter. My friend ordered ice tea and I ordered green tea. Her tea came with a straw so small we thought it was just a stirring device; I ordered hot green tea and got genmaicha (green tea with toasted brown rice.) While I happen to love genmaicha, it is not to everyone's taste and is certainly not "green tea". We ordered an appetizer that never arrived. Our entrees were grilled cheese sandwiches with apple chutney and a side salad. Our waiter stopped by a couple of times but never offered to refill either my companion's ice tea or my visibly empty tea press. We got dessert after an extended wait and had to ask for the bill. All in all, a delicious lunch, but for the price service should have been so much better. Oh, one other thing: originally people were seated ever other table - then they placed a party of four so close that my companion's chair was only an inch or two away from one of the gentlemen - no barrier at all. We would have moved, but our entrees had just been served...during COVID we should have at least been asked if it was all right to seat anyone that close.
Cozy little restaurant tucked back off of 48 in Centerville. I loved the atmosphere and the egg salad sandwich was too die for. It reminded me of my grandma's egg salad. Also the homemade ketchup was interesting. We will be back.
Loved the service! What was even better was our timing. This week is restaurant week and that meant full course meal! Meadowlark was serving brunch and of course we had to try it. I had the cucumber and mint soda, lavender twist, shoulder pork, chicken and waffle, and bread pudding and everything was delicious!!! I can see why they were best rated.
Overall, the restaurant is decent. The atmosphere on the bar side is much better than the dining side; service is good (even when a fellow patron is a handful); and although there isn’t much fish on the menu, the whole restaurant smelled of fish. It’s a pretty pricey restaurant for the quality of food.Food: Garlic frites (fries) are very good, chicken Marsala is delightful, steak lacks flavor.
The service today was horrible. We ordered Caesar salad with chicken and he forgot the chicken - he brought out cold chicken to put on top but we were already done with our salad. Poured ice tea in my coke. They don't put ice in the water and our water was room temperature - suggest using ice. The cheesecake tasted like spoiled milk. Their fish sandwich is so small you need a magnifying glass. The company was good and the the manger did pay for our meal but the waiter was rude and had an attitude. It spoiled our girls day out. Will not return and would not recommend for the above reasons.
