Little York Tavern & Pizza Vandalia. Ordered mozzarella sticks, garlic bread with cheese, Bavarian pretzel sticks, and a large cheese pizza. For the most part, everything was really good. Even upon delivery, everything was still warm. ? The beer cheese was really runny, but still tasted good. I've never had it from LYT before, so I'm not sure if this is typical, or a mistake with the recipe. The sight of it definitely messed with my senses! Unfortunately the garlic bread was awful. Half of it was rock hard, (I sent them a video of me squeezing the bread, and you could see the bread just explode into crumbs). I also asked for garlic sauce for dipping, and was given pizza sauce. I did send an email to the restaurant, so I am waiting to hear back. If their bread is stale, or there is an error in cooking time, whatever it is, someone needed to be made aware that they were sending food out like that. Other than the garlic bread, everything else was good. Hopefully they can fix the bread issue. ? Update: After several attempts to contact the restaurant, (email, Facebook and their online contact form). I finally called and spoke with the GM, Tom. As I tried to explain the problems to him over the phone, he literally laughed at me when I was trying to explain what I think happened to the bread. ? 1.) I worked in the restaurant business for many years. I don't know the exact equipment that they use, but I get the general idea of how this bread is made. 2.) That's the exact reason that I contacted in writing, is because I attached photos and videos that would provide a much better understanding of the problem. 3.) Getting ahold of a manager several weeks later does zero good as far as a quality check on the food that they used around the time that I had my problems. Maybe read your emails? Anyway... Tom offered me a credit on my next visit. About a month later, I called to place an order and they had no record of my contact with Tom. I talked to another male manager, (I thought I saved his name, but I can't find it at the moment). He was really nice, but I had to explain the situation all over again, which was frustrating. He explained that they don't really check their emails. ? Then why even have the option, and through MULTIPLE platforms?! ?♀️ So I explain again, he makes it right, and I'm on my way. I have bad memories at LYT, so I don't really like the place for personal reasons. After I tried to let them know that they have some bread ready to cut through the roof of someone's mouth, and got laughed at, I really have no desire to return for the food either. ?♀️ Second update, in response to the restaurant's comments on my Google review: This had NOTHING to do with the delivery, or staffing issues. I said right off the bat that everything was still warm when it was delivered. This was a quality control issue. The bread was ROCK HARD. Check your emails and you'll see what I mean. As far as the garlic sauce, I ordered from the options available on the menu that was on front of me. If it wasn't available, someone from the restaurant should have called, and one of the two managers that I spoke to in my follow-ups should have explained that there was a mistake on the menu. Since when does any restaurant just throw up their hands and go, "Oh well, we don't have that"? Not good business. Finally, staying "old school" isn't always the best idea, and this is a perfect example of why. Interesting too how that "old school" mentality let's you respond to reviews on Google, but not check emails from customers. I REALLY have no desire to go back after the restaurant's response here. Excuses and lack of accountability are never a good response. ?✌️
Went here the first time on a Monday. Apparently there is bingo this night. So the bar and restaurant was packed. I was able to get a seat at the bar. Bartender was nice. Very swamped tho. Was a great pour of bourbon on the rocks. Ordered the fish sandwich with tater tots. Sandwich was great. Was hot, juicy. Lots of flavor. Only issue I had was tater tots. There was maybe 10-12 there. Idk. Just seemed odd to have a good size sandwich. And only a few tots.
We had taco pizza and steak sub, both great, the taco pizza had a crisp crust it was great, the sub was amazing with muhroom gravy. Service was EXCELLENT.
Excellent food and service, came out hot and fast, really enjoyed Sunday brunch here
We're huge soft pretzel ? fans and their Bavarian pretzels and cheese is easily the best on the planet. Really enjoyed the pizza ? and Ciderboy Blueberry ? beer as well. Great discovery; excited to return.
Always excellent food and great service. This place is a Dayton GEM! Their menu is excellent and I definitely recommend the Reuben Pizza! Can't wait to go back!
Awesome service. Decent prices. Good food. Ample outdoor seating. Huge indoor dining area with plenty of TV's. Went just for beer and service couldn't have been better. I will. Be. Back!
Love their onion petals. I believe they make their own ranch. The ranch that you look for that's rich and creamy. I recommend ?
We haven't been here in a few years so we decided to get something from here for dinner. We didn't eat in and just ordered take out chicken wings. It was delicious as before.. I think this is one of our best chicken wings in the Dayton area. :)They have various sauces to choose from from mild to hot, we got the garlic one and their mild sauce.. both were great. One thing though is that they raised their prices compared to their printed menu and they only tell you that there is a "small" price increase for the wings. We didn't find it a small increase though.. about 15% so just be aware of that. We don't know if this was just a temporary increase due to covid and supply chain issues but hopefully it is.
Look at this perfectly poured pitcher.Ok. I admit this is a nighttime bar. But, the food is good! The pizza (of course), sandwiches, and subs are good. Avoid the fish. Not terrible, but a little greasy. If it is a normal dinner time, bring the kids. They'll fit in.
