We have gone for lunch after playing golf in the area for years. The decline has been constant for the last year, and Covid is not to be blamed! Fruit flies were all over our food. We watched a hostess kick something on the floor to the side, rather than picking it up. The manager sat chatting with employees rather than asking them to bring our completed food orders out to our table. And more!
We finally found our go-to steakhouse. The atmosphere is great. Even when the dining room is full, the noise is still at a minimum. The NY strip has a fabulous smoked flavor, the prime rib is so tender, and the serving sizes of the sides and steaks allows for 2 meals.I’ve heard this place is expensive, but I don’t believe that at all with the amount of food and quality.
The food and the service here have always been here unmatched in the Miami Valley. The only thing different about this evening was that our son decided to join us. I was looking forward to this meal so much that I almost forgot to take any pictures! Our server was off the charts awesome this evening as well. I can’t wait to go back! Happy Birthday Linda.. I took my girlfriend out to Redlands Grill by j Alexander's for a fancy date, and we were blown away.The atmosphere was just right for a romantic evening out: dimly lit and quiet, with a relaxing background of soft jazz music. The decor was beautiful—the walls were painted all shades of red, from pale, blush pink to deep maroon. They had candles on every table and the room smelled like fresh flowers.We started with the chips and queso, which was amazing! It was a lot of fun to share with my date and it really set the tone for an evening full of good food and good conversation.For our entrees, we both ordered steak—she got the steak. It was cooked perfectly: tender and juicy with a nice sear on the outside. I ordered their steak burger, which I found really interesting because it's not something I've seen on other menus before. We both agreed it was delicious but if you're looking for something that's more classically "steak-like," we recommend going for one of their actual steak entrees!The staff was also on point with everything! We ate here Thursday and was an awesome meal other than we sure did miss the good croissants you use to have, I hope you bring them back as that was SO good! Our waiter Cory was great very nice young man that I hope we get him the next time we are there!!!
I do not know what has happened to our j alexanders but the food has really suffered.. The queso is like water and was not hot at all. The mgr took it back to the kitchen to be heated in the microwave and we added two ramekin of cheddar cheese to thicken it but in doing so it lost all the taste.. He could have cared less. The chicken pasta soup was cold and had little or no pasta and chicken in it , and the serving size could not get smaller.. For the prices they get, the food should be at proper temp and high quality. We have been regulars there for years but in all honestly we will think twice about ordering food just cocktails next time. They have to get the kitchen staff and the servers reeducated and trained.
If you don't like spicy food stay away. I had the Bayou and my wife had the Chicken Parmesan. Her Chicken Parmesan was so spicy she almost couldn't eat it. Our waiter , James M, never offered to refill her water glass. Never asked if we needed anything or how things were. He boxed up her leftovers, brought it back and DROPPED it on the table. Everyone else's were brought back in a nice little bag. We were not asked if we wanted a desert , which we had planed on getting as it was Valentine's Day. Food was ok, service very poor.
There was a wait but the food was really good. My daughter got the rotisserie chicken and potatoes and they were cold, but she said it was good even with it being cold, (hence the 4 stars) we did not send it back we had already been there more than 2 hours, so we took it home and heated it up and it was still very good. Our server was great and all the staff was really upbeat.
Phenomenal food and wonderful service. Will definitely go back again. Cory is a great server.
Can NOT say enough about this place. My extended family was all together for my grandma’s funeral. We had a private room. All of our food came out hot and together and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was phenomenal. No stone left unturned. Everything was DELICIOUS. I live four hours away, but would frequent this place if I could! Best restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time.
