This is the 2nd time we've ordered from here. The first time was nearly perfect!! Best chicken strips we've ever had! My husband opted for extra seasoning on his fries the first time, but I was leary, so I didn't. His were perfect, mine could have been seasoned a little more. Tonight I ordered extra seasoning on my fries, and I think they dumped half the container!! Everything was so salty my mouth is on fire and I couldn't finish my dinner!! Could we please have some consistency and not pull a stunt like this? Totally ruined the experience. Instead of looking forward to dinner here again, I'll have to think twice.
Very busy when we arrived. They took our order , and approximately 10 minutes later we got our order. Ate outside in their outdoor seating area. I got a 5 piece meal with fries. The fries are seasoned and delicious. I had the hand breaded chicken strip dinner with sweet and sour sauce , was very good. 1 thing kept it from getting 5 stars , no trash can in outside dining area. Had to take back into restaurant to dispose of trash.
In the opening days I would have given them 5 stars. Tenders were a good size and everything was great. When New restaurants open they are ALWAYS great and then....... DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! My 3 piece tender meal was UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. Why can't restaurants continue what they started that kept you wanting more. They haven't even been open long. Then they wonder why they go out of business. Let's just say that a 2 yrs old could have ate one tender in two baby bites and I am not exaggerating. ???
The wrap is full of fresh greens and tender, juicy chicken. The French fries have a seasoning that is delicious and the watermelon ice tea is so refreshing!
Service even for being brand new was fast and friendly considering the place was packed. If you like Raising Canes, you will love this place. I am a chicken eater so I was hoping for something great. The food was hot. Fries were perfect and bread was great. I got the 3 piece meal, was almost 8.00 for it and included no drink, so a tad pricey. The chicken is juicy and crispy, but like canes very bland. I tried their sauce and it was mostly mayo flavored, very little spice or seasoning. Keep up the great work!
This establishment gives off zaxby’s vibes with a touch of canes. I got the 5 piece meal, prices are about what you would see at canes, there is more of a selection than canes, and very similar to zaxby’s. It is a nice addition to Englewood. Food was brought to my table fast, fresh, staff were pleasant. Would eat here again and will be added to my frequent lunch spots. The coleslaw is creamer than canes and zaxby’s.
Food was amazing! We will definitely be back! Amanda Young and team amazing job! I recommend ? this is a place to eat.
I live in the Louisville, KY area and am visiting my brother here in Dayton. We saw this “new” restaurant and decided to try it last night. There are printed menus right inside the door, which allowed us time to sit and read over it (my brother is legally blind) to decide what we wanted before we got in line. Selections are good and hard to to decide what to try in our first visit. We chose the chicken tender meal. While very busy our order was up fairly fast. As usual, I gave tip to both the cashier and the young lady who brought our order to us “hiding in the corner” - she seemed surprised. We both dove into the crinkle fries right away, very tasty and just the right amount of crispy. The tenders were great, juicy inside crisp on the outside. Sauce selection are varied and good. We will definitely visit again when I am back in Dayton and wish we had one in Louisville.
Huey Magoo's is great food at a decent price. The chicken tenders are crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. They hand bread each tender and cook it to order. So the food is fresh! The wraps are flavorful and delicious. I love their crispy seasoned French fries. They also serve Coke products, which is a must. The owner is a great guy and his staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Huey Magoo's in Englewood, OH!
I was excited for another restaurant to open in our area and had never heard of this one until I saw the sign during remodeling. They just recently opened so I figured I'd stop in for a late lunch. I grabbed a menu and made my selection. I have many years of customer service so I'm always looking and listening! Anyway, the cashier was a bit "green" but friendly though she kept replying "huh?" when she couldn't hear me or thought I'd said something-that was my first turnoff. In making my sauce choice, I asked what the Magoo sauce was and she said "it's like Cane's"-that was my second turnoff because I was really hoping for something about this new restaurant to "stand out" but I was still eager to try it. Once home and opened the box, I could pretty much see that it was definitely "just another chicken tender place." The coleslaw has no flavor. The Magoo sauce tastes like Cane's sauce does though the sweet heat sauce is yummy! The crinkle cut fries being my favorite type, has a seasoning shaken on it but it appears to only add a bit of color and no added flavor. The chicken, though tender, took a back seat to the sweet heat sauce! I didn't really find any of the food to be AWESOME, though their menu boasts "the filet mignon of chicken." Maybe that reference is for the tenderness because the taste just isn't there, in my opinion. Maybe as time goes on there will be improvement but for now I will let those who try and like it, enjoy it.
