Spacious, environment was very welcoming, our server allison "rainbow haired warrior" was one of the sweetest servers we EVER got to meet, very joyful and kind. My family and I adored her, we are looking forward to meet the others who seemed just as kindred spirited guys and gals. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
This place is insanely overpriced for what they give you. Cold, salty bread and cheap butter, terrible food and terrible portion sizes. We ordered the rib sampler as an appetizer, which was $11 and when it arrived they were tough as tho they had been microwaved and there was hardly any meat on them. The barbecue sauce on them was a sorry excuse for barbecue as it tasted more like a salad dressing than a sauce. Then the food arrived and the steak tasted like a steak I could have gotten for $13 from a steakhouse. This restaurant must have been allergic to using any sort of seasoning as everything was bland. I’m certain the water was seasoned better than the actual food was. Overall, you can find much better food elsewhere in the city. We ate for two and paid a hundred dollars. Save your hard earned money and find another restaurant.
after hearing my parents go on about this place for a long time i finally went myself. i can see why they’ve been raving about this place! walking in, i could tell this was a popular place for the locals and i felt an immediate sense of community. the food is excellent and the service was great! everyone there is so friendly and it creates a very nice atmosphere. i will definitely be going back!
I just moved up here to dayton been trying all the different restaurants.. wanted some bbq and came here! First time here and the service wasFantastic.. food was awesome will definitely be a spot i will come back to!! And i love that it is Family owned.
This is the absolute best restaurant for barbecue in the city of Dayton. Over 60 years family owned with outstanding old fashioned customer service for the new millinemum. Ashley moves like a ballerina while making drinks,, its truly poetry in motion,and Jennifer was fast, courteous, fabulous and attentive. The owner was even present mingling with the guest, great friendly guy.. This was my first visit so if your looking for great barbecue with the best vibe, do check them out..
Besides being stared at like a freak show because of my bright colored hair it was actually still amazing. Took a homegirl to try and she loved the bbq and house dressing just as much as I have my whole life. Hope this location always remains open!!
I don't get the glowing reviews. We waited in the insanely crowded bar to be seated, all the folks there swore it was worth it. I will note they were all an older generation so maybe it's just nostalgia for them, or somehow I'm crazy, but this was some of the worst bbq I've had. Salad was a sad handful of lettuce and a shred of carrot. Bread basket was cold (like, refrigerated) and had mini bagels? None of it was particularly nice bread. Butter was cold and stiff so couldn't be spread.Ribs were meh, not much meat to them and flavor was dull. All the sides seemed like they were poured directly from a huge can or frozen. Prices were very high for portion sizes. Wait staff seemed disinterested at best. The dining area is showing it's age and not in a good way.Maybe they were having an incredibly off day, but there's too many negatives to bother trying when there's plenty of better BBQ in town.
Friendly staff, cute place. I had the ribs. Absolutely the worst food I've ever had. If you like mustard-flavored barbecue sauce, this is the place for you. Ribs were tough and mustard-flavored, worst ribs I've ever had. My friend had a t-bone, also tough meat. I paid $25 for the ribs, and they weren't worth $5. I couldn't be more disappointed.
Been coming here for over 25 years.The food is always good. The staff treat you like family and the atmosphere is cozy.I would suggest a reservation or expect a wait.A hidden gem.
They have the best cabbage rolls. And best NY strip you are gonna get in the state of Ohio. Love this restaurant and the servers are so nice.
