Impromptu weekday dinner at Carvers. Skeptical about ordering Maryland Crab cakes since no restaurant in Dayton does them correctly. Well Carvers nailed it! Lump crab meat & no filler of breadcrumbs! Excellent dinner. I will be back ordering them when I don't feel like making them! Also, Eric our server gave us exceptional service!
Big disappointment! The Baked Brie as an appetizer became my dinner. The Shrimp Scampi left an unpleasant coating in my mouth, the texture of the shrimp chewy & the tomato sauce had no flavor. Others in our party were equally dissatisfied. The side of potatoes looked like dirty wet white socks chopped up in a sauce (baked). The crusted topping was the color of chocolate from overbrowning. I mentioned this to our waitress. Her reply - "that's unusual, most people love them". There were 5 + a child & all plates were removed with uneaten Entrées. No bother to ask if everything was alright. Our Server wasn't unpleasant but extremely disinterested. Our child is a lovely well mannered 7 year old so she wasn't an issue. If we ever return to Dayton we will not venture to this restaurant again.
I recently visited Carver's with family and friends. While those that had the steak dinner really enjoyed a nice steak with lovely sides, my chicken was tough, the mushroom sauce tasteless, the side steamed veggies tasteless. As a non-steak eater, I won't return to this fairly expensive restaurant. Also, we all didn't enjoy how dark this venue is and we were there for an early dinner. So if you are looking for restaurant that could satisfy a variety of palates, take a pass on Carvers.
Amazing Family owned restaurant. Fine dining with a personal touch. Everything we've had was great Filet, Chicken & even the Chili. Reservation process could use a little improvements. But a great place to dine for sure
I very highly recommend Carvers!! My husband took me here for the first time tonight for an early Valentine's day date and it's so stunning, romantic inside. If your looking for a place to take your someone special for a romantic outing this is definitely the place
Went for the first time for a late dinner on my own, had an outstanding meal. Ordered the New York strip with whiskey peppercorn cream sauce, thought it was absolutely delicious. Au gratin potatoes were nicely cooked, steak was a perfect medium rare, and the Caesar salad was well dressed and peppered. Paired with a nice Cabernet Sauvignon, a dinner to remember.Service was amazing as well. I had Eric take care of me, and he did an outstanding job as my server. Very attentive, and knowledgeable about the wines on offer. Will be returning, hoping to have him again.
Great atmosphere, great service and amazing food. The prices are very reasonable. We will be back for sure.

Took my two kids for Thanksgiving Dinner. The place was booked solid, but the service was excellent! The traditional Thanksgiving Dinner was very good, and we had lots of left overs to take home for another great dinner on Friday. I made the reservation in July, and I'm glad I did - much better than making the meal myself. Will do this again next year!
Carvers is a wonderful place for special occasions or a quiet dinner. The food is absolutely amazing and the service is the best around. We celebrated our anniversary tonight. Laura was our server. She was so sweet! Everyone was fantastic! We are looking forward to our next visit!
