The food was delicious. Informal atmosphere and great food. If you order a large beer expect a liter of beer. I had the steak with was served in a skillet.with fries. Delicious. The schnitzel and other offerings were deemed excellent by my tablemates.
We love German food, having lived in Europe for 3.5 years with two offices in Germany. Valter's is the real thing! First of all, the menu is authentic, and the preparation is excellent. We sampled the menu, so we can plan future visits. The Appetizers are enough food for most people, but the Pork Schnitzel on the menu is worth the whole experience. Valter himself makes his presence known in the best of all ways. The owner pays attention to his patrons, and we appreciated the time hie spent at our table as new customers. Finally, the cheese cake, very different from the ultra heave NYC cheesecake, is a wonderful way to end the meal. We are coming back with friends, and we may take advantage of two special things: The brunch has a great reputation, and Tuesday nights include a special singing group. Thank you Valter for making this a wonderful dining experience.
Fantastic experience for a couple of first timers celebrating our birthdays. Server was on point in all aspects, don't think we've ever had a better one. Great recommendations, food was out quick, fresh and delicious! Will be back for certain!
Everything was wonderful! Reuben was large, messy and absolutely delicious! Yummy homemade crispy potato chips. Red cabbage was perfectly cooked. Awesome shaded porch thanks to extra large umbrellas. Superior service.
Our waiter Dylan was amazing the food was spectacular! The pork schnitzel was enough to feed two. . Great prices and terrific atmosphere! We look forward to coming again
Went here for brunch with my family, and it was without a doubt the best breakfast I’ve ever had! I’ve been here 5 times now and each time I try something new it gets better every time. The staff is so friendly and makes you feel at home. I got the wings (some of the best I’ve had) and the hangover skillet breakfast and it was so flavorful! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus and is such a gem.
This place is incredible. The ambience, food, staff, would give 10/10 for all. Tried both the dark and light beers on the menu, both are awesome.Food - Ordered 1) kettle chips with beer cheese, was super delicious 2) Bratwurst was amazing as well
Well, I have never been to Germany so I'm not an authority on "Authentic" German, But it was darn good. Cozy restaurant in an old house. Great food, well presented. Very attentive service. We were passing thru town and found it by accident and it turned out to be the best dinner of our entire trip.
I really wanted to give this place five stars but the breakfast potatoes (even if they are authentic) are a greasy mess. My wife's German bologna sandwich was great, and my breakfast skillet came in a 20 in lodge cast iron pan. I definitely come here again in spite of the potatoes.
Our service was wonderful. Professional and courteous. The food was delicious - and who wouldn't like a delicious breakfast in the afternoon? An enjoyable experience for me..
