Okay, WOW!!!! It's true what they say about the "small, hole in the wall" places! Tommys is AMAZING! I was greeted as soon as I walked in by a waitress serving food, then she gave me a choice of where to sit (I chose the bar (since I was solo) INSTANTLY, I felt I was surrounded by family, My aunt "Roz" (she's not REALLY) took my order "what can I get you baby". My family is gone, so to hear that, I felt a HUGE hug. She brought me my coffee (liquid golden butter in a cup) so delicious. And before I could get my third sip in, BAM, a huge breakfast plate with FRESH, HOT food (down to the BACON as well) was served to me by "auntie Roz" "here you go baby" as she topped off my coffee cup, "you enjoy that, ok?" OMG, French toast was delish! Home fries were fresh n hot (a little bland, but still delicious) and the BACON!!! Oh, wait, I mentioned that already, BUT HEY, it worth ANOTHER mention!! Egg, PERFECT (NOT GREASY) Kudos to the cooks!! They were MOST DEFINITELY on their game!! Next time yr in town, for a OHIO STATE game or any other reason, Jazz fest, Taste of Columbus, HIT THIS PLACE UP!!! They're only open till 1430! ??
Great place and old school good breakfast service with a smile. Get the specials they are always great. Had hash with eggs inexpensive and good.
We were visiting and looking for a good breakfast place on a Sunday morning before heading home. We checked out their menu online before deciding on Tommy’s. We arrived and their were several cars in the lot, but a few open spaces. While the restaurant had many patrons we were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive. My husband and I had two of the specials. He had Cajun fried chicken with waffles and bourbon maple syrup. I had the strawberry shortcake stuffed French toast. He ordered home fries/ hash browns on the side and I ordered sausage patties on the side. Our meals were delicious the hash browns and sausage Pattie’s we ordered on the side were just ok. Overall our meals were good, service was excellent, and we felt like the price was reasonable. We would return.
A lot of the previous reviews about the staff being courteous and friendly - and I might add when crazy busy on a Sunday - plus the large portions are absolutely spot on.The food is good, but, without the smoky, very savory ham, our potatoes and eggs would have been almost tasteless. And the home fries were, instead, hashbrowns. The waffle, though, was a thing of beauty and tasted housemade v. from a mix. The syrup, 'though of course not maple, was of good quality. The coffee flowed freely, but was weak, and we had to ask for additional half and half. But loved we could pour in sugar rather than tear open countless sugar packets.Am looking forward to trying some non-breakfast items or either the Greek or Gyro Omelet.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience.I live in Dublin, picked up my friend in Polaris then drove all the way down to Tommy's for brunch on EASTER Sunday. The tropical mimosa was the best we've had. The Food was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. The memorabilia walled theme decor was exciting but most of all, our server CEECEE was AMAZING. Such great personality and very thorough. The gentleman at the register (i believe owner or manager) and his heritage definitely bleeds into his work ethic of his employees. You know a pleasant environment when everyone's face looks pleasant.Thank you for the wonderful time. Will definitely be back.Good luck to you and God bless this establishment and it's staff.
Fantastic place to eat! super friendly staff, great good and great customers! we will come back every time we are in town.
Great atmosphere and delicious food at Tommy's Diner. We both had a wonderful breakfast and enjoyed all the 50's decorations and music. Even though it was very busy, the service was excellent. We hope to return on future trips to Columbus.
I Love Tommy's Diner?? I just recently moved to the city and I ask a coworker where's a good place to eat for breakfast or lunch, and she recommended Tommy's Diner! The food was GREAT!!!
Four booths open and would only sit me at the counter because I was by myself. Then after waiting 5 minutes to take my order, I waited over 15 minutes as I watched others that came in after me receive their orders. I ordered an omelette ! The guy at the door is rude and the wait staff is short with you...unless you're a regular I guess. Bad, bad customer service and bad service all around. I will not be back, I will make sure everyone in my network knows of this place. Not good for their reputation !
Iconic diner. Wonderful staff and ownership.
