Want to like the Crest but it has just gotten so overpriced for extremely subpar food. Their menu design and wording makes everything sound good, but what they serve is actually pretty gross. We were serve half a head of ‘grilled’ (uncooked but charred) cabbage and there was no possible way to cut it or eat it. It would have been funny if it wasn’t so expensive. Staff is lovely!

This experience was something I had been looking forward to for a while - I have followed The Crest on Instagram for a while now and I frequently find myself exploring their menu just to see what cool combinations and presentations they are doing. To say that my expectations were exceeded would not sufficiently communicate the magnitude of how positive of an experience was created! The garlic bread was absolutely delicious - such a fresh and fun take on something that has become mass produced. I feel that some of the allium on top could have been cut up more - but that’s more personal preference. Then we got our drinks - with it finally being warmer they were just so refreshing! The Martha My Dear was not overpowering in any capacity and found balance in the fresh basil. For the entrée, I had the walleye and loved every bite - the fresh dill came through periodically and paired well with the richness of the sauce. And of course the pickled rhubarb was a wonderful bright contrast to the savory depth of the fish.We didn’t get dessert this time, but I’m thinking we definitely should next time!A beautiful, trendy atmosphere; a new way to experience Appalachia; and a genuinely well thought out menu - I would recommend to anyone to get dinner at The Crest!

This would get a "B" on my food report card. I think the cuisine and idea is unique, and the ambiance meshes well with the vibe they are going for. Happy hour is really great for appetizers and drinks with regard to selection and price, but the one cocktail I did get was the Apricot Cobbler and it was difficult to imbibe. The crushed ice formed a sno-cone like ball and the paper straw quickly became clogged with cobbler sediment and trying to drink out of the mule itself was difficult and I could not enjoy the cocktail (I think using a different style mug or not using the crushed ice would help). I also got two Manhattan's, both of those hit the spot. For an appetizer, I got the Fish Fry - very tasty, good portion, and great presentation. For an entree, I was pumped to try the Wagyu and Venison meatloaf, but it feel below expectations - for two very tender meats, the meal was burnt and dry; however, the accoutrements were tasty. Service was also ok - my bartender/waitress was great, but she was super busy. Overall, pretty cool experience, I would definitely come back.

The food here is expertly crafted. You aren't going to be paying for quantity; you're paying for quality. The side potatoes were unreal. Perfectly soft on the inside yet crunchy and savory on the outside. Even the larger pieces consistently carried the same attributes. The goat cheese balls are a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The goat cheese is actually quite mild yet still lets you know it is definitely goat cheese. Perfectly creamy inside the fried shell, it is topped with what I think was an exquisite applesauce and served along several slices of cooked apple slices. Definitely one of the finer restaurants in town. Their chefs know what they are doing and I'm pretty sure they are Potato Wizards.

The food here is very high quality. They have a nice selection of drinks as well. The setting is quaint and they often have low-key live music.

WOW. What a place... The food, the people, the ambiance....15/10 would recommend. The walleye was fantastic followed up with some butterscotch for dessert. Talk about a flavor explosion. The service was impeccable. Had this sweet lady Ali, the nicest most sweet server I've ever met. Go get you some delicious food and ask for her. You won't regret it!!!

I really want this place to be good cause it’s in the neighborhood but it’s just not. I have been here three times and all three times was terrible. First time 5 years ago, got the lamb burger and it was dry on the inside soggy on the outside and bland.Thought I would give it a try again, went back two weeks ago and got the sunflower gnocchi, it didn’t have any braised heads as stated on the menu, just 4 springs of greens on top a sea of pesto and a very small amount of pasta.Came back again thinking, maybe just deserts and cocktails, food is bad. I got the bees knees and once again most of the ingredients in the description wasn’t there, and it was plopped haphazardly in a wine glass and hard to eat. I also got the same cocktail as last time, shrub and bubbles, and it ended up having none of the ‘shrub’ that was there the first time, just a random slice of fruit. After checking for pictures online I quickly saw this place cuts corners and is wholly inconsistent. In almost every regard besides ambiance it is not worth the money, don’t go, the service was super slow to serve and very rushed to get us out, regardless of it being dead.

Everything was great, sophisticated food. Staff is great and helpful. Only one thing, they don't have an espresso machine. This is always puzzling to me, especially in high hand restaurant like that one. Buy it 100 on Amazon please.

Great little corner spot for brunch with nice outdoor seating. Food is reasonably priced and arrives quickly. Our group enjoyed the unique mimosas made with sparkling chardonnay! Hope to visit again soon.

Great brunch and cocktails, warm staff and gorgeous atmosphere.
