Last Saturday, my wife, son, and I visited this restaurant after the Columbus Arts Fest. We knew restaurants were going to be busy, but the issues we encountered were not due to traffic. When we arrived it was hard to miss the mess the restaurant appeared to be in. Most, if not all the open tables were dirty. We included a picture in this post. After greeting us (a very nice lady), the staff apologized for the messy state and proceeded to blame it on the busser being late. What was evident was the lack of care by the rest of the staff on the importance of keeping their tables clean. They would walk by with empty hands and not bother to pick up any dirty plates. Even worse, they took my empty plate, and just placed it on the table next to us, and left it there. My wife and I have worked as servers in the past and part of our training was FULL HANDS IN, FULL HANDS OUT. Very simple. This practice has been used effectively in many upscale restaurants. It ensures the restaurant stays clean, and that the patrons are happy and in a clean environment. The staff at Lola’s Kitchen were polite and friendly, but they seems to lack training. To make matters worse, after paying, my wife was still working on her dish, she noticed that the chicken was not fully cooked. Since they already processed our credit card, they tried to offer us a gift card, which we politely rejected. We weren’t planning on ever coming back. So they gave us our cash back.I do have to say that my tacos were good, and my son’s pizza tasted great.I’m leaving this review as constructive criticism in hopes Lola’s Kitchen improves its training. It is not only up to the busser to clean a table. It is a team effort to keep a well-run restaurant.Remember, FULL HANDS IN, FULL HANDS OUT.
Lola's was amazing! Made a reservation for 10 on Mother's Day. The service was excellent; we didn't feel rushed at all. All the food was delicious. We had the Chicken Thighs with hot honey as an appetizer. I had the Chicken Parm Sandwich with potatoes. I got the full, but probably should have gotten the half because the portions were big! Other table favorites was the Dagwood sandwich, chicken quesadilla and open face omelet. Had nice happy hours specials on food and drinks. Would 100% come here again! One of the best parts was that the owner took our picture and put it up on the wall!
Lola’s is truly a hidden gem!Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful experience! Our large group visited for Sunday brunch and shared many different plates. Everything we tried was delicious (even for this picky eater), and our server was such a pro that we never had to ask for anything! Not to be missed: the Belgian waffles, herbed potatoes, the crispy chicken thighs + hot honey.Don’t skip their fabulous mimosas!Genuine hospitality, perfectly prepared dishes, and a beautiful (clean!!) setting. Plenty of metered street parking available on High/Rich/Pearl - free on Sundays!
First time in, loved the brunch. The $15 bottle mimosa deal can’t be beat, the menu selection was perfect for breakfast fans or those who prefer lunch. I got the Fried Egg sandwich. The breakfast potatoes were hearty and not too greasy. The sandwich itself was delicious but so rich I couldn’t even finish half of it. That wasn’t a problem because it warms up really nicely and was perfect for dinner the same day.Our server was attentive but gave us plenty of space and the ambiance was perfect. The cute cafe style was perfect for catching up with an old friend, like I was doing and would also be nice for special occasions. My friend got the chicken Philly sandwich and loved it but also took half of it home due to the generous portion.Random note: Have been experiencing back pain from a recent injury and really appreciated the comfy padded chairs.
They get 4 stars because the food and drinks were good! We had turkey meatballs and they were amazing and large! Very well seasoned and meaty! We had a breakfast burrito and fried egg sandwich! Great tasting and the portions were good size..we took half of it home. We had the ginger pear martini it was refreshing and sweet. I recommend trying that! The parking is downtown parking and the wait at this place was crazy.it was long! I see why it's good place, good location, good food! Once you get seated and they wash and sanitize the table..you are good to go!
What a great place! The food was delicious and the owners were wonderful! Great way to support small business doing great things! The jambalaya pasta was amazing but all the reviews around the table were!!!
The atmosphere is nice. A bit loud as it filled up. The menu had a good variety of prices and items. Happy Hour prices are great! The French Onion Soup was a pretty salty, I may have had the bottom of the soup pot. But that may be your thing! The warm bread and butter were delicious!
Love The food. Alwsys fresh hot & the owner Lola is such a Darling. The weekend Brunch is so elegant. I go several times a month. The bottomless mimosas are absolutely fabulous

Loved this place. My friend and I celebrated an early birthday and they where extremely accommodating. Had a back room which they allowed us to entertain our guests. Food and staff were awesome. Reagan? was our server and was very pleasant and patient. Thank you Reagan. Overall just a good time. If you are looking for a good time with some good food and atmosphere go to Lola's. We had probably around 40+ people and were fine. Dig it. Thank you for EVERYTHING!!!
