Nice food. Loved the Jazz.
Me and my husband were looking for a local southern restaurant. Website and everything looked good. We’re unable to order online, something was wrong with site. We called them and ordered the catfish and whiting carry out. We had to order our sides separately which were quite expensive. For 2 pieces of catfish, 2 small pieces of whiting, fried potatoes/onions, which were old, hard and not fresh, a order of fries the size of a McDonalds small fry, we paid $40!!!! No bread, nor condiments!! We try to support our black owned businesses, but I could have got a full meal at Marinos or one of these hole in the wall places for much less and more food!!! Dry disappointed. Should have just made it at home myself!! Very disappointed!!!!!! $15 for 2 small pieces of whiting, no sides/bread and $16 for 2 pieces of catfish no sides or bread just fish. Rip off???
My husband and I found LaSalle’s after trying to find a local place for fried green tomatoes. The location was a little difficult to find at first and although they were out of fried green tomatoes, everything else did not disappoint! The food was delicious, well seasoned, and hot. The wait time was pretty average. Our waitress was very attentive. The owner even stopped by to apologize about the fried green tomatoes and introduce herself— very friendly and outgoing! The atmosphere was nice and cozy. Seems like they have karaoke nights, live music, and a full bar. We will definitely be back :)
Presentation is HUGE for me. It looks like the chicken tenders are over cooked. The okra barely had breading on it. And the cheese on the burger looks cheap. I'd go with Kraft singles before that. The greens are still crunchy and salty. The Mac looks good but taste bland like it needs salt. Not my type of mac. It takes ENTIRELY too long for food to be ready and look like this. And my whole order wasn't ready after ordering online and waiting 55 minutes. Technically more cause I showed up 10 minutes later. Guess you can't trust something just cause it smells good. I'll order donatos or subway next time. Also I got no condiments although I requested it in my order. So thanks for the dry burger and having to ask for sauce for the dry tenders.
This was the best chicken and shrimp Alfredo I’ve had in a long time… came with garlic toast. That’s a real lunch. Definitely my new lunch spot.
I hate to write this because I love to support Black-Owned businesses but they probably opened this place too soon and I predict they won’t be open long if they don’t make major improvements, ASAP.Service: 1/5; the server was nice but we saw him a total of 3 times and the restaurant was dead inside; maybe 5 tables in use. The drinks weren’t refilled and it took 85 minutes for our food to arrive once ordered.Ambiance: 2/5; the vibe is that another restaurant closed and these owners came in and slapped their name on the front door. The decor is outdated and we sat in an old wooden uncomfortable booth. As I’m sitting here writing this, I realize my clothes smell likeOld chicken grease.Foods 2/5; I had high hopes that the food would be amazing given how long it took but again, disappointing. The chicken was very dark as if it was fried in old grease. The candied yams were ok; I’ve never had pineapple in them but it was a nice touch; however the actual yams were semi crunchy. The Macaroni tasted like easy Mac with paprika sprinkled on top. The greens were good but there were more stems than greens.Overall, I wouldn’t return unless they were under new management but I hope they can turn it around.
Had lunch here last week with a colleague. I had meatloaf while my colleague had gumbo & fried tomatoes. The food was great, our server was friendly and I loved the selection of music they played—classic smooth jazz. This location doesn’t have much visibility as it’s at the corner of two minor streets. I hope they can make it as I liked the vibe of this place and wouldn’t mind coming for drinks when they have live music. My one complaint is it took 90 minutes for lunch-I guess the food is all made to order, but our waitress also was pretty slow in giving us the Bill and then coming back for payment. Hopefully they’ll smooth out their service as not many people can take 90 minute lunches and I liked this place!
I finally got around to trying this restaurant and I just had to write a review! I ordered the catfish sandwich for lunch (via DoorDash). The instructions on my order were followed as requested. The food was packaged well and arrived piping hot! The catfish was seasoned well and the portion was generous. I’m hoping they’ll have perch soon and I look forward to trying other menu items as well ?
Went in for lunch today and it took 1 1/2 hours to get a fish sandwich. Service was horrible and paid way to much for a fish sandwich with one piece of fish. Several items on the menu were not available. I wanted this to be a good experience but unfortunately I will not be back.
The brunch was amazing. Staff is a beautiful compliment to this southern style menu.
