I too am disappointed at the negative reviews for LaGlory’s. My husband and I were in town from MD and searched for soul food. Since we aren’t from the area, we had difficulty locating the restaurant and called. A lovely woman answered the call and very politely provided directions. After a few minutes elapsed and we hadn’t shown up, she called us back. When we arrived we found the staff polite and friendly. We both couldn’t pass up on fried chicken, mac n cheese and we also enjoyed yams. The food was fresh, tasty and satisfied our desire. Should we find ourselves in Columbus again, we’ll return to enjoy more from them.
Worst food I ever received from a restaurant! The fish smelled like feces. After taking one bite I spit the fish out and threw it away after taking this picture. Made attempts to call and report the bad food they did not answer the phone (as if they knew the food was messed up!) Finally reach them and complained about food and they blew us of by never calling us back. so wasted 24.00 and the time it took to get the food. Hate to give a bad review to any small business but they had a chance to make it right and still dropped the ball! Totally disgusted!Update:This response from the owner is 10 times worst than being ignored. My original review was 100% the truth of what my husband and I experienced with the food. After placing the order a gentleman called back to advise you all were sold out of perch at lunch time. He was very polite so we ended up getting two catfish combos. My disgust with the food was so bad because I never had to just throw away an entire order of food due to the smell, like it was soaked in chitlin water. The texture of the fish seemed undercooked and it was pinkish but hard to capture in picture. It wasn’t easy to detect as the outside looked perfect so i thought maybe i should advise them they had some bad fish in the batch???The day it happened we called the main number and the number I received a call back on several times and no one answered when the restaurant should have been open for several more hours. I never spoke to this owner so I have no idea why this assumption would’ve been made that you know who I am. I never had an issue with wanting to purchase additional sides so you must be thinking of a different dissatisfied customer. I hope in the future you learn to take all complaints seriously as you definitely lost a customer and I will always remember the poor response along with the poor food. Additionally this is not the only forum to give reviews but it was the one I choose today. 614kitchen, Lashea’s, Lees seafood boil, hibachi express, Scotty’s cafe, etc are all local businesses that I have patronized through the years and have given honest positive reviews to.
So the food was definitely made the night before and re heated. This is the second time it's happened. When you call to let them know about it you will be disappointed. Spoke with the manager who was rude. I know soul food and not sure how this church can get fish and chicken wrong. I support blk business but this is not it. Food is not good and service is even worse. I live walking distance and the food was cold and old. Threw the whole order away it was that bad. The reviews are not lies frUpdateSo you literally said that you will let door dash give me my money back never said you would make it over. The food was not right and when I tried to tell you I was basically talking to a brick wall. Instead of being defensive just work on your customer service and better food quality. Ok, first of all I’m trying to figure out why there are so many bad reviews. Because in MY opinion this food is delicious. As you can see from the photo there is a great portion size, so you DO get plenty. (If you want more buy more). The smothered pork chops are SO tender and delicious. I inhaled them. The greens and mac and cheese were also wonderful. They greens were not under or over cooked and seasoned just right. The corn bread was fresh and just the right amount, and my banana pudding was to die for. The price was extremely reasonable for a small business. Thanks so much guys! Will definitely buy again.
I went in and left out. The attitude on theses people is what will keep them a small business. I’m not from the area, and i searched specifically for soul food and got nothing but attitude. Look at how the owner is responding to other reviews. You know it’s the same in person. My friends did enjoy the food though. I wouldn’t recommend! Customer service is everything i would worry about that rather than being argumentative with the people trying to support you.
First time trying here and the service was great but Gravy for the smooth pork chop was salty for $13 I get on pork chop that had alot of fat. The greens was awesome, but no taste to the rice and gravy and considering everyone there has natural hair I think it would be best to wear hair nets or covers as well while working with the food. Well eat again if someone else pay for it
I go here about once a week and I have never been disappointed. The chicken is amazing and I highly recommend the YAMS(!) and greens. The dark meat dinner is awesome. I saw several people say the sides aren't big enough but to me they are plenty, and the same size as at other places. And, where can you get this quality food for $10? Also recommend the lemon cake!
I came in yesterday and ordered a fish dinner it was delicious?and I'm back today me all my family ordering again.... everything was perfect...
Fish was delicious not a fan of the sides ( cabbage & sweet potatoes) portions could be a little bit larger.
$12 for 1pc of catfish and 2 sides big enough for 3 bites. My $4 side order of sweet potatoes came in a tiny container that was filled with mostly juice. The mixed greens and cabbage was good but again the serving size only allowed for 3 bites. All and all the food wasn’t too bad, could’ve had a lil more seasoning but my low rating is mainly related to the extremely small serving size for the price…
