I drove 2hrs. from Cincinnati on a Hank's BBQ trip. And they certainly did not disappoint me! Loved all of the meat from the smoker except for the sausage (a bit salty). The pork ribs are super tender and full of bark. Brisket was very delicious as well, moist and tender. I'm not a chicken fan, but we cleaned the bones. It was moist and flavorful. Pulled Pork was a star as well. I have no problem telling you they have Great Food here at Hank's. Even the sides, I will go back!
This place is legit. The brisket is second to none. The smoked sausage is near perfect. The ribs are perfect and fall off the bone. The seasoning is done just right. There are two kings of BBQ in Columbus. Ray Rays if you want Kansas City / St Louis style and Hanks if you want true Texas perfection. Check em out. You won’t be disappointed. The only con I have about this place is that it can get quite loud sometimes due to the music and the open setup. But that’s more a problem with me than anything else.Service is excellent. Food is near-perfect. The place is clean as a hospital. What are you doing still reading reviews? Just go already!
This is Legit BBQ! This is the best BBQ I have ever had. The Brisket was excellent. The Ribs were Phenomenal. Everything was juicy with a great crust flavor. I couldn't believe that the ribs didn't need bbq sauce. Mac and cheese was simple and very creamy. The corn bread was moist and of course corny.
Tried this place for the first time based on a recommendation and they did not steer us wrong. The brisket nachos were excellent and the flaming hot Cheeto dust was a nice touch. But the meats and sauces were where it was at!Both the brisket and pulled pork were superbly flavored and tender, with not an ounce of dryness. And the bone in ribs had a nice smokiness on them. We very much enjoyed both the peach and white BBQ sauces, which paired well with all the meats. The fries were also nicely salted and crisp. The service was fast and being that it's family owned, the staff was all very friendly and attentive.I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great BBQ.
My husband and I ate at Hank's Texas BBQ for the first time today. The food was absolutely wonderful. I had ribs, collar greens, and corn spoon bread and my husband had 1/2 rack of ribs, potato salad, and burnt end baked beans. The employees were very kind and polite. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant
My newest favorite present BBQ place. We caught them at a slow time. Food was excellent and tasty. Beer was cold and a good selection. Sports bar. They smoke everything on site. They are starting up with smoked wings!
This was our 1st time trying Hanks and we thought it was delicious. I had the pulled chicken salad with white bbq and subbed the Mac n cheese. They were both delicious. I'm pretty picky with my Mac n cheese and I thought it was spot on. The pulled chicken salad lacked almonds, but the flavor and consistency were really good. I appreciated that they gave me extra sauce just in case I'd like more than what was mixed in, but I felt it was just right and not dry.We will definitely keep this in mind when heading back to the Clintonville area.
Damn good barbecue, and if that ain't a fact, God's a possum. Texas barbecue at it's finest - a true taste of the wood fired barbecue tradition, performing the art of long-smoking meat to the pinnacle of tenderness while capturing enough smoke to penetrate and build a lovely smoke ring topped with a flavorful, crunchy bark. Hank's nails this! The offset smoker pumps out such a wonderful smell, I caught it from across the street and had to come in for a bite. I was blown away by how good this barbecue is - the portions were huge and the BBQ sauces are outstanding and unique (White garlic aioli, Carolina Mustard, Texas, Cold Brew Coffee, and Peach Habanero). The service was super friendly and knowledgeable, and even Brad (the pit master/owner) had time to discuss the craft and answer my questions. What a freaking gem in the city - told all my friends and family and will be back soon!!!
Place was amazing. Old garage, amazing brisket, fries are house cut, and good liquor selection. Going back Friday, today is Wednesday. It’s that good. Going all in Friday and trying everything but if it follows the brisket well be fine. Also, best Alabama white sauce I have ever had. And I search this stuff out. I’ve had it from all over the region, and this was new level.
Our server was very friendly and greeted us with a big smile. We all ordered different things. The loaded tots were homemade and very tasty, the plain sausage was tasty, my nieces loved their burger and hot and heavy sandwiches. My daughter enjoyed her ribs and greens not so much the Mac and cheese . My son and I had brisket that was very cold and dry which was very disappointing ? The fresh cut fries are always a plus for me and the sauces were yummy ?
