I ate a pleasant lunch recently [5-31-2022] at Firehouse Subs Grandview #693 at 955 W. Fifth Ave.I had been on a self-guided walking tour in the "Fifth by Northwest" neighborhood that day and had arrived at Firehouse Subs exactly at the correct time to be able to order and eat lunch. The dining room at Firehouse Subs Grandview is at least twice the needed size for such a restaurant; there is plenty of room; the tables are widely separated.I had studied the Firehouse Subs website several times in advance of my visit and had chosen the following sub to order: "Firehouse Hero®" [USDA Choice roast beef, smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted provolone, served "Fully Involved," which means "loaded complete with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side"].The website had not mentioned that there are three sizes of subs from which to choose so I had to quickly decide which size of sub to order while standing at the ordering counter.Sometimes, on-line menus are based on the premise that the customer will be ordering "on line" at that moment rather than walking into the restaurant later and ordering at the counter. The one odd thing about the ordering-and-paying process is that I had been asked to insert my debit card without knowing the cost of my order. Usually, credit card machines display the total amount due but I had seen no "amount due" on the credit card machine so I asked the cashier the "amount due" after I had already paid that amount. My one criticism of my recent visit to Fireplace Subs is that the website had clearly stated that there would be "a kosher dill pickle on the side" served with my sub when in fact there had been none.I am surprised that the "default" "serving style" for subs at Firehouse Subs is that they will be served "hot." My "hot" sub had actually been "lukewarm" which in my opinion is never the best temperature at which to serve a sub.The next time I order a sub from Fireplace Subs, I will request that they serve my sub cold.
I ordered $70 worth of food for me and my sisters for Mother’s Day and in that order I wanted 8 celebration sugar cookies what came was 1 celebration sugar cookie and 5 nasty oatmeal raisin cookies, Been calling them since I received my order no one’s answering the phone if the cookies I ordered wasn’t in stock they should’ve called to let me know but they didn’t, or refunded me for my order. I am very upset yes it’s over cookies but I spent $12 for 8 and only received 6, 5 of which are the incorrect cookies. I don’t play when it comes to my snacks.
This place is on pointThe sub was so juicyThe veggies were fresh and so was the meatThe bread had that soft crunchSomething that will put you to sleepThere was enough for 2
The only reason I'm giving one star is due to lack of response from manager/owner of this location. Sandwich I ordered was completely wrong, which is fine, it happens. But manager/owner refused to provide a refund. I would think losing hundreds of dollars in future business vs. refunding $12 one time and still getting my business moving forward would be a no brainer, but I guess not.
The food was really good! Staff was super customer-centric and everything was clean! Will definitely come back!
Walked inside & there was no line. Placed my order at the counter. Girl asked if I had Firehouse rewards and I said I did but couldn't log into the app. She said no problem and asked for my phone #. I gave it to her and she finished my order. Gave me my receipt and said my name would be called when my sub was ready. Ordered the meatball w/ the sweet & spicy sauce, awesome! I grabbed my chips, got my drink, & had a seat. Ate some of my sea salt potato chips when my name was called to get my sub. It was a nice relaxing lunch sitting amongst other patrons. Felt like it had prior to the Covid pandemic. Good to see things returning to normal. Just hope it stays this way. Good job to the crew at the Grandview Firehouse Subs.
They have super good quality subs and I ordered the Virginia ham, swiss cheese, tomato and banana peppers with mayonnaise. They have lettuce also but, I chose not to have any on my sub. They have a good selection of subs for any palette, such as meatballs, Italian, brisket, club sub and many more. I got a medium sized sub for $10.15, which isn't bad, it had a good amount of ham on it and the bun was very good.
They NEVER have bacon… and won’t inform you. I come or ordered from w 5th location, a hit or miss.. I order Turkey Bacon all the time … if bacon not on it, KEEP IT… like I didn’t pay for a turkey sub, I paid for the BACON also. Pleaseeeee do better… NEVER should I have to travel all the way to Polaris location for me to happy with my order.
My wife and I both agree that this is the best firehouse location to eat at from Parkersburg WV. to Columbus OH. Always nice and have a full menu. Food time is the quickest out of all the location we have visited.
Great food and better service! Staff is friendly and super nice!
