Great addition to Italian Village. Great bar food and drinks. Great bar to watch a game or grab a Reuben. Trivia on Wednesdays gets busy.
Found a dead ladybug in my Caesar salad and was too grossed out to eat anything else. Ordered take out via Grub Hub.
The Staff was amazing and attentive the food was wonderful nice atmosphere everything was great. We had a large party and they did outstanding serving us
Decent bar type food in an old Wonder Bread factory, decent brunch, food was ok, came out in decent order. Not quite a dive bar but close, surrounding neighborhood is all older 1800 era houses, cool walking around on the cobblestone streets and sidewalks. Other direct is about 4 blocks to the convention center
Good for dining in bad for doing Uber/doordash slow even when there’s 2 other people eating
Expensive drinks ($6 for any draft), very slow service with less than 20 people at the bar (counting 2 bartenders and a bar back), and they short you on your change (charged me 6.30 for a beer listed as $6 on the menu, then gave gave me back $3.60 from a $10) Nice setting though.
Had rueben for St Patrick's day. It was amazing. It had great balance and size. Good amount of cheese and meat. The sauce was good and not overwhelming. I highly recommend! I will need to check out the rest of their menu!
I was at City Tavern last night with some friends from out of town. I have never met a more unprofessional pair of bar tenders. One was Amber (I think?) And the other I didn't get the name of, but we will call KarenTo start, non attentive would be kind. I stood for 15 minutes waiting for service at a bar that was half seated. Only after yelling to get their attention was I able to get a drink. Amber went and sang karaoke while Karen wasn't behind the bar, effectively leaving it unmanned. My buddy got the wrong beer twice, our car bombs were under poured, and they were more concerned with having a good time instead of doing their job. When we were leaving, my friend left a tip of 6.66 on her 32 dollar bill, for which Karen became so offended, she pushed one of the girls with us, tried to fight the two, and then threatened to call the police for "assault" against my friend who pushed her back in defense. This was in full view of the cameras mind you.By far the worst experience I've had with bar tenders in a long time. We all left a tip, and yet that wasn't good enough for Karen.Do not go here, avoid it.
I really love this place, great drinks and food for every mood. The city shroom dip is crazy addictive. Want comfort food? Grilled cheese and tomato soup has you covered, even better if you add bacon and tomato. If you are looking for a more healthy option the Cali wrap is also amazing. They even have a brunch menu for the weekends. My favorite is the breakfast burrito with an added side of queso.
Just got Cajun dry rub wings from this place. Not sure why but instead of celery they put a bunch of wet pickles underneath the wings so when the wings got to me they were all soggy and semi sour. Yuck. Also the Cajun dry rub was not a rub but seemed like they crushed up a bunch of flaming hot Cheetos and rubbed the wings in them.
