Don't be put off by the old decor, this place was a gem! My husband owned his own Indian restaurant for decades before he retired, so we are picky. My husband wasn't with me, it was just me and a colleague for a quick lunch while out of town. She had never had curry or Indian food of any kind before, so I ordered a mild Chicken Korma for her, while I ordered a Medium Chicken Tikka Masala so she could taste that as well. Also ordered the butter naan. The food did take a little longer than we expected, but we arrived just at lunch time and they had A LOT of takeaway orders coming and going during that time. After waiting about 25 minutes our food was brought out piping hot on polished plates, the silverware was also gleaming. We each took a fair share of one another's curries to give them a taste. My colleague just widened her eyes and took another bigger bite. She loved it!So after seeing her initial reaction, I finally took a taste. I must say that the food was as close to the wonderful curries my husband makes as I've ever had in over 20 years. Very clean spices, extremely tender and flavorful chicken, and lots of it. In fact, there was so much left over that we took the rest home and had it for lunch at work the next day. Even better the second day!I'd eat there again, though maybe with a takeout instead. It isn't dirty, but it is dark and too quiet. No music and the ambience was awkward. But I would definitely recommend anyone get a takeout from here, especially for someone who already loves curry!
We ordered the lamb rogan josh and chicken tikka masala, the food was served hot and fresh and had a great flavor. The naan was perfectly cooked and was seasoned well and the mango lassi was refreshing. The server was very polite and made sure we had everything we needed. I only wish I had known that tips are preferred to be cash only since I only had a small amount on me and wanted to tip more for the great quality and service.
I usually go to Khaab, however I decided to try somewhere new. I’ve eaten at many different Indian restaurants over the years, and of course, every place is different and uses their own recipes - so, take my opinions with a grain of salt. I can guarantee you the staff & management are happy with their recipes, and there are plenty of good reviews, so that’s what matters. The portion sizes were not typical of most Indian places. I typically pay $15 for an entree and get three meals out of it. The box of rice was only half full, and the pint size contianer of curry was about 3/4 of the way full. Cinnamon cost me about $20 for less than I would typically receive at Indian restaurants.I got the paneer tikka masala. The rice, aside from being half full, was not at all aromatic as I would expect. It wasn’t bad - it was cooked perfectly well - it just didn’t seem to have any of the added ingredients I typically see from other restaurants. The tikka masala was weirdly sweet? Maybe this is a family recipe; I just typically expect a masala to be savory. I ordered it as “hot” from their scale, and I should have went with extra hot. I would compare it to a 2-3 level heat at competing restaurants. The texture was also somewhat reminiscent of a jarred sauce, not completely smooth - think marinara. The naan was very pancake-like in texture, and on the thicker side. It was good, though! I ordered the garlic naan and it had a lot more garlic flavor than other places, so that one was a win in my book.Overall, I don’t think I’ll be coming back to Cinnamon in the future, but I encourage others to give it a try! Just because it’s not to my taste doesn’t mean it won’t be to yours. :)
I have ordered from this restaurant in few occasions as I like the authentic fish curry that they make. However, their fish peices are inconsistant and in one occasion the bigger half of one of the pieces was missing, making me feel uncomfortable when I served to my guest. My fault is that I didnt open and check and trusted them to do their job. When I mentioned that after ordering again today to make sure it doesnt happen again, the person who picked up the phone yelled at me saying i should not teach him what to do and he knows his busines and i shouldnt order from him any more. This tells me that he will treat his customers however he likes and he doesnt care about serving his cutomers the right way. I will not visit this restaurant any more and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Guy told me the in store menu was wrong. I figured a few bucks, 70% increase are you serious? For 3 pieces of chicken mixed in with just onions? Also blew up in my bag. Was wet by the time I hit the car right outside
Ordered paneer Tikka online. The taste was ok ok. It has too much food color in it. Even after washing hand, the finder were still red.
I just moved to Columbus and was looking for a good North Indian restaurant. After a few unsuccessful tries at other places, I ordered from Cinnamon Grill. It is now my go to restaurant!!! They balance out flavor and spice perfectly, which is hard to find in the U.S. (especially after going to India and trying food there). I am beyond excited to have this spot locally and know you will NOT regret ordering from it. Also, the spicy option is SPICY so make sure you order medium if you are looking for the average American "spicy" most Indian restaurants have. They don't allow you to tip through Doordash, and don't have a tip jar at the store, so make sure you bring cash in and tip them for their amazing food :). - Also, the portions are perfectly sized, especially compared to other Indian restaurants on the same street.
Honestly some of the best Chicken Tika Marsalis I've ever had. The sauce is spot on and the chicken is tender and juicy. Get Naan to soak up the extra sauce!
Fantastic Indian food and best one in Columbus. Quality of food just amazing! Definitely recommend!
Enjoyed the chicken tikka masala through Uber Eats. Nice portion, flavor and spice level. Didn't order Naan or any other items but to rate the dish up against other Indian cuisine in Columbus would be pretty comparable but not my favorite. Still delicious! I'd order again.
