My husband had always wanted to try this restaurant, so we went there on a Tuesday for an early dinner. Our proteins were roasted goat and habo steak. They were tender and aromatic! I especially loved their flavorful plantains! Our drinks were delicious! The texture of their bashaal juice was fine and smooth. I was amazed by their iced tea that was spiced delicately. It was really good! The staff was friendly and patient. We couldn't ask for more! I gave it 4 stars because they used takeout boxes for dining in, and that did not feel right to me. Nevertheless, I still recommend this restaurant!
Love love love this restaurant. Just had one of the best meals of my life. We tried the goat and steak as our protein base and both were absolutely delicious. The iced tea is also delicious- tasted to me like a really flavorful chai tea. Honestly everything we tried was so good. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and offered good suggestions of what to pair with each protein. This will be your new favorite restaurant.
That was my first time and I was very satisfied from the service to the food…Very very clean, had fufu and goat stew tasted amazing..I will for sure trying it again
I’ve been eyeing this place for a while but never got to it. Today I stopped by Menards and was pleased that they had a drive-thru! I ordered the jollof, chicken, beans, plantains, and corn. Absolutely amazing and prices were good. And the sauces (I got one regular and one spicy) were good too. I text my family group chat and let them know so they could get into it! It reminds me of hibachi but with African flavors and it was GEWDT ???
Absolutely delicious food. You pick your base, protein, veggies and sauce. Everyone at the table loved their food. You very much get your money's worth. And everything is served in a to go style container. Most patriotic restaurant I've ever dined at and they also have bidets in the bathroom.
Sooo glad I stopped by! The food was absolutely delicious. What I loved the most, though, was the atmosphere. "African Food, American Made" is their slogan. I didn't quite understand the American Made part at first (like yeah it's located in the US so, by default it's American-Made right?) Then I saw all the refreshingly authentic "Americana" on the wall: the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the signing of the Declaration. You get the vibe that this is a family restaurant, maybe owned by folks new to the States, who are proud of their country and their pursuit of happiness. What a lovely thought :) I don't know the owners' background but regardless, they should be very proud of what they've built. I'm telling all my friends. I hope Afra Grill is bigger than Chipotle someday!!!
My husband and I stopped here for lunch. Both of our meals were absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. The woman that served us was very kind and very helpful as it was our first time in. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Yum! We will be back!
excelente servicio ??????
Food is very delicious here. I've been several times, I've always ordered my food to go. I would have given them 5 stars but the serving sizes of the food progressively went down hill throughout the past year. I probably won't be going back anymore just because I can't justify the amount of food for the price. Before the price was ok because there was a ton of food but now its like I can go somewhere else because I will disappointed after a few bites. They let you pick 3 items for type of food so I usually get salad and plantains twice. Apparently you're not allowed to get plantains twice or anything twice. So not a fan of having options to choose from but then being controlled on what I can pick. Rubbed me the wrong way so wont go back. FOOD is GREAT nonetheless. Check it out for yourself. Maybe serving sizes will be better in the future. I guess covid had an effect.
Rice and chicken were delicious. Liked the tea as well...I hate when restaurants don’t have paper towels in the restroom.
