Wanted to check out The Christmas Story house and we were a bit early (tours start at 10am) so we decided to go in and grab something to eat. I was excited that their full menu was available on the Sunday morning I went because I had the Basic B burger with ranch seasoned French fries. My friend had the massive BLT sandwich with seasoned ranch fries as well. Food was very good. We are at the bar and our server/bartender was super friendly. Really enjoyed this spot. I bet it is a blast at Christmas time. The nostalgia would be amazing. There are photos of the Christmas Story movie all over, and of course, an infamous leg lamp is proudly displayed in the window. Highly recommend if you are just passing through or are there for a tour.
What’s not to like… happy hour $2.50 drinks. The tots are super fried with SPICY chipotle dipping sauce. The Mac and cheese dishes are phenomenal. And the chicken sandwiches are great! Kudos to this establishment. Small seating area.
Stopped in here before the Christmas Story tour. Small bar. The bartender was SO nice, patient, friendly. Wish I could remember her name. I had the lemon dill hummus veggie wrap. The hummus was awesome! One person bathrooms and it got crowded being a Saturday. If you are visiting the Christmas Story house, stop in here before or after
I had shrimp and grits and a mimosa! The food was amazing! The environment was very laid back and chill and the staff were friendly. My only complaint would be the loud group of people sitting behind us causing a ruckus!
We walked over to have an early dinner after completing the Christmas Story House tour. We learned it was also on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. The portions were generous and the quality overall was good. I had the Rueben with house made corn beef and sauerkraut. The sandwich was huge and delicious; the slaw was a bit of a disappointment, but more personal taste than anything. It seemed more vinegar based and I’m accustomed to cream based. My husband’s burger was huge. He said with the seasoning used in the burger, it tasted more like a meatloaf sandwich than cheeseburger. Not that it wasn’t good; just not what he was expecting. The place is small and was pretty busy, but we found a table right away. Overall, a good experience and fair value.
This is a Diners, Drive In and Dive place that was on the Food Network Guy Fieri show about a couple of months ago. We couldn't wait to go. Great corner bar/restaurant in Tremont. We sat at the bar and had our brunch. Food was great and our server was awesome and funny. We want to go back for happy hour. Thanks for a fun Sunday morning.
This was my first time here and I wanted to order everything! It was a little busy when we arrived, was offered right away bar seating but we waiting for a table which didn’t take long, maybe 15 minutes. The food was amazing! For the fried pickles they used decent sized spears and it wasn’t mostly breading like some restaurants. Pretzel bites with the cheese sauce was great. It was hard to decide between the omelet of the day and chicken and waffles. I went with the omelet of the day since the chicken and waffles is on the menu. The everything but the bagel breakfast was delightful. You can tell everything was fresh and homemade. Misty was our server and she was excellent! You can see she was busy but that didn’t deter her from making sure we had a top notch experience. Don’t worry, I’ll be back for those chicken and waffles, plus almost everything else.
Love this Tremont hidden spot! Great place for Breakfast, drinks, tacos and more. Small kitchen with Big flavor! Staff is friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating weather permitting. Update: no longer patio seating ☹
Love love love this joint!! A true locals gem that is welcoming to everyone—even us nutty tourists. We visited Cleveland and stayed at a place across the street from Rowley Inn, which turned out to be incredibly fortunate. We ate dinner there twice and breakfast once, and were never disappointed. Very friendly and fun staff, great beer selection, and fantastic food. The Buffalo pierogies and kielbasa were SO good. And don’t miss the bacon wrapped tots! We loved the whole dive bar vibe—so homey and comfortable. My boyfriend even did Randy’s meatloaf challenge (you gotta look this up on the menu), and nailed it. Thankfully the meatloaf was delicious, which made his unappealing and unapologetic shoveling of it in his mouth much easier for him to swallow. ? We highly recommend this wonderful watering hole!!
After seeing this place on TV, we had to give it a try. We split the Oh Cheesus burger and Montreal Steak seasoned Fries. We did that so we had room for the Bacon Wrapped Tots. Both were awesome. The place is right on the corner of a nice Cleveland neighborhood, very small with great atmosphere and a very friendly and welcoming staff.
