Such a cute coffee shop and I'm so glad this was conveniently located at the hotel we were staying at!I had their cappuccino with almond milk and it was perfect. Loved that it was well balanced and soothing for my soul. They also had other wonderful-sounding lattes with lavender or matcha which I didn't get to try.Their spinach and cheese croissants were awesome as well. They weren't able to warm it up in their shop so I had to heat it at the hotel lobby's microwave upstairs. Eating them hot made them even better and I loved how buttery they were.Although there was almost always a line, the staff were very friendly. Would recommend!
Nested at the entrance of the beautiful Arcade building, Rising Star coffee roaster is possibly the best artisanal coffee shop I have tried. They offer a good variety of coffee drinks. Most importantly, they have a good variety of coffee beans, single origin, and blend. This is what I consider barista quality coffee vs big chain coffee servers quality. If you like espresso, try their koke blend..excellent. Moreover, their drinks are fairly priced.
We stopped in so my husband could get an espresso before a brisk walk toward the van lake, and the staff offered me a free latte too. I appreciated it so much!
Rising star has a very diverse menu (see my pic) and the coffee and food are very good and priced appropriately. What earned the 5 stars is that the staff here were very friendly. While we were there you could tell there were a string of regulars based on the interactions and regulars usually means good and consistent service. Overall, an excellent visit.
I'm going to start simple and then get more nerdy. The coffee was delicious and crafted with love by friendly, knowledgeable baristas. I ordered an espresso from Oaxaca, Mexico and a pour over (made in a Kalita Wave) from Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. The barista's espresso technique was flawless. It resulted in a well balanced cup that was bright without any unpleasant sour or astringent tastes that you sometimes get with lighter roast espressos. It was sweet and filled my mouth with delicious and rich espresso flavor. While the espresso was pretty crowd pleasing, the pour over was more of a daring coffee. However, if you're familiar with Ethiopian coffees, this will be a familiar coffee drinking experience. It was full bodied and bright with refreshing blueberry notes. If you're looking to try something new, this would be an friendly and knowledgeable place to dip your toe into the wider world of coffee. If you're looking for classic coffee bar beverages, you'll also be pleased. Thanks for the delicious cup!
Failed to make the order as requested. When I mentioned this, I was greeted with rudeness and a disgruntled I'll remake it. Handed back a cup with drippage all down and around the cup.Mine was the only order at the time,, so it wasn't a "I'm really busy and stressed" moment, which I could at least understand. Two young folks working, rude and far less than customer driven.Drink was adequate, but well below average.I tipped 4$ on a 5 dollar drink before the experience began. Wish I could have retrieved it from the lock box afterwards.....lolI won't be back!
I loved this little nook within the Arcade! Although there is no dine in at the moment, the vegan and/or gluten free baked good options are totally worth the visit. The gluten free/vegan morning glory muffin was the exact flavor, sweetness, and texture I wanted. My friend had a gluten free/vegan zucchini brownie and a pistachio white chocolate cherry cookie and also loved them. The baristas were very friendly as well. This makes me want to check out the other locations as well!
I just love their coffee. Vanilla Latte is my jam. They kill it every time. Wifi works better than the hotel's that always went down.
Very nice velvety and flavorful drip for coffee snobs
Tried the coffee yesterday very good and the staff was really nice I definitely recommend this shop!
