For what I get at Mount Pleasant I'm happy and that is a center rib dinner, I love their slaw but their fries are usually too soft and drenched in barbecue sauce so I can only eat a few of those and I'm done. But the ribs are pretty good.
Smh. I have no idea how they have 4 stars. Stouffers Mac and cheese. Bush baked beans. How are you a bbq spot and you CHARGE ME FOR BBQ SAUCE. Mind you not extra sauce. If you want bbq sauce at all there’s a charge! 25 cents for hot sauce. 25 cents for tarter sauce (with a fish dinner) If the food was worth it. Ribs were meaty but boiled. Whiting was good. But overall for what I paid 32.00 never again. Open Pitt it is
I am a Cleveland native but live in Columbus now and When I come to visit I have to get it. I have been eating here as long as I can remember…..over 30 years. Still the best hands down!!!
My visit was in the early afternoon on a Saturday and it wasn't crowded. The food was fresh and good. It can be very crowded in the evenings and at night on weekends so be prepared for a long wait. The indoor area is pretty small with little room to stand. I hadn't visited in a few years. it's a rough neighborhood and my husband didn't want me going up there for a pickup so he would make the trip. They've spruced up the interior a little bit. The staff was very polite and friendly which is very much appreciated when I'm spending my money.
I hadn't been in Cleveland since 2016 and I've been to restaurants all over the country east of the Rocky Mountains. This taste is what I crave most living away from my hometown. I bought a shoulder dinner and a polish boy deluxe and it did not disappoint. Me, my wife, kids and grandchildren all devoured both orders together standing around the kitchen. It's amazing how many memories come flooding back after experiencing a long lost but familiar and unique taste. I was happy Mt. Pleasant BBQ played an important part of our family bonding while reuniting with family.
The worst barbecue restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio. I ordered the whole wing snack pack. I received dollar store fries, which I know for a fact that Marc's and the Dollar Tree sells. The chicken was old, dry, and black, with broken bones. My food was not edible. I thought I was really getting a treat when I opened the box and looked at the food, huh!! But, hiding behind the sauce was a food nightmare!! Oh, and I had the nerve to order coleslaw on the side, as if it was not enough to give away even more of my money!! There was even a warning sign next to the line that said "no cash refunds," and now I know why. I just gave my money away. ?As a matter of fact, there are no good barbecue restaurants in the Northeast area of OH. People just don't care what they sell you as long as they make money. My parents taught me that if the chicken is black around the bone, they (the sellers) didn't drain the blood while getting the chicken ready to market. I had older parents who were very knowledgeable on how to raise chickens and other food. You have to drain the blood by hanging the meat.
Had not been there in 20 years and the food taste just like it did 20 years ago, even the yellow cake with chocolate frosting. The food is still the best. Customer for life. Everytime I drive up from Mansfield Ohio I have to stop in.
I purchased a wing dinner which was supposed to come with coleslaw and french fries they gave me double fries instead and most of the french fries were hard and so was the chicken it's like they served me food that was cooked hours ago, I was very disappointed in my meal. The restaurant has been open for so long and I wondered why it still is because the food is not as good as it used to be.
Came in for Rib Tips sandwich with fries and Polish Boy, it was piping hot I ate it in the car ride home. It was so Good and Delicious
Ordered 3 dinners which cam to $40. All 3 rib dinners were hard and completely dried out. Ione dinner ended up getting thrown away. I saved mines and gave the dog the other rib Donner. Took mines back and they had to remake it twice because it was hard slow. They made it right the third time and no commentary Fry or nothing. Not even a sorry about that. Considering I had to come back the next day to get another dinner. Guess I will stop coming here after this. They could have given a gift card or apology. I'm done with them. I been going there since I was a kid. Like 40 years. I don't even know who the owner is now but that was horrible customer service.Never again. And no referrals.
