Stopped in while in town for business for some craft beer, which was fantastic! Noticed the fantastic pizza coming out of the kitchen and had to make a trip back before I left town for it! It was certainly worth the second trip--new beers on tap and great pizza. Perfect pre-game, pre-show spot in Cleveland!
Huge industrial like decor with lots of tables, bar space, big kitchen, high energy and the large brewing area you can see. Place is clean and well maintained.Came here yesterday late morning for lunch and brews. The folks at the bar were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The man in the kitchen who makes the pizzas also very friendly and welcoming.On this visit I brought two flights of beers that were only sold in the brewery. The beers are phenomenal- big, bold, delicious flavors, and many styles of beer to choose from. They have something for everyone, from the casual beer drinker, to the new craft beer drinker, and to the beer nerd. The beers are big winners here!For food I brought the Italian Sausage Pizza. Absolutely amazing and delicious. Quality ingredients, especially the flavorful sausage and roasted onions, topped on freshly made dough and baked in a fire brick oven. The crust around the pizza is chewy and has a nice flavor. Highly recommend the Italian Sausage Pizza!Clientele at the time were mostly young professionals to have lunch. Most of them didn’t order beer nor alcohol. If I worked close to this place then I’d come here for the pizza at least 1-2 times per week.The only negative about this place is the parking. Free and metered parking along the nearby streets were full. There was a nearby parking garage where I paid $13.00 for 2.5 hours. A bit steep though worth it thanks to the good beer, food and service I received at Masthead.Highly recommend to make this place one of your stops when in Cleveland.
Service: 5/5Beer: 4/5Food: 3/5. I got the brunch pizza. Flavors were light, but enjoyable. The issue, however, was most of the bottom of my pizza was burnt. The burnt taste overwhelmed the light flavors most of the time.I will probably end up going back to give their pizza a second chance.
In town on Business and decided to stop in for a local craft beer and some great food. The beers were top-notch the flights were amazing the prices are fantastic and the staff are great as well. The pizzas were an excellent choice very unique very flavorful and wonderful all-around highly recommend if you’re in Cleveland.
I didn't have a lot of free time in Cleveland but couldn't miss getting out and trying a local brew or two. Masthead was walking distance from my hotel, so that's where I went and I really am glad I did. Terrific beers in a fun beer hall atmosphere. I don't generally go to breweries for food, but I did really enjoy the pizza. I got a basic pepperoni and it was the perfect companion to the beer. They offer something for a variety of tastes and I really enjoyed their traditional brews. Service was attentive and very friendly. I have to remark on a bartender...I wish I had gotten her name. A kid came up and asked for a shot but didn't know what he wanted. (apparently missing the fact that he was standing in a brewery) The bartender was very helpful and asked what type of flavors he liked. The one part I overheard was him saying "I don't know...do you have...gin?". To which she responded (very friendly still) "You want a gin shot?". Anyway, they worked on it a bit more and she made him a mix of gin and grapefruit juice, which I'm assuming he liked. I've been to breweries and bars where that sort of thing would get you laughed out the door. (perhaps justifiably) She handled it really well and I think it's a nice representation of how this place treats their customers. Definitely don't miss this place for the excellent beer and service!
Recommend the Italian Sausage pizza.
The beer is phenomenal. The pizza is just as phenomenal. Get the sausage pizza- good flavors and basked in a brick fire oven!
We booked a separate dining area for a graduation dinner and Maria their events planners was phenomenal! I have been booking events for my professional life for years but for my son’s graduation, there’s a lot more at stake. She gave suggestion, did not try to oversell me and was very much interested in the event’s success. Food was amazing and service astounding! What’s more incredible is there was a last minute crisis and Maria had to have it all packed up and make it to go! This was an incredible feat! We had 20 people. Go to this restaurant, not only for the amazing food; this is a place where you want to spend your money because the people are terrific!
Awesome place. Awesome beers. We had a great time and loved each beer we had. The food was great too. Will definitely go again on our next trip to Cleveland.
Finally made it here! Expansive interior with outdoor seating as well. Great selection of beer and pizza ...had two samplers and all were good...never had a beer from here I didn't like!
