The quality of food and portion size is outrageous for the price. We had the pulled pork sandwich, it was $15 for a small-medium size amount of meat, and didn’t include a typical side (like French fries). Our main food was mediocre. We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend. Pros and cons listed below.Pros:- Excellent service, our server was friendly and helpful- Food came quickly, which was ideal since we were going to a Guardians game afterwards- Fun atmosphere with plenty of seating- Clean environment- The small side of coleslaw we had was really yummy- The potato salad side was delicious- Awesome locationCons:- The AC was turned up way too high, I understand that the servers are running around but even with a jacket on our group was chilled- There are no sides included with the meal, you have to pay extra- While the potato salad was good, it was $6.50 for a small cup- The prices are outrageous, even for the area. I believe 6 ribs were $52. We paid $15 for just a pulled pork sandwich- Our friends ordered the turkey and were not impressed with the taste or portion size either
Excellent pulled pork sandwich, the Cleveland BBQ sauce is so good - I would purchase that. Food came super quick. Beer selection was great - local selections as well as commercial. Nice atmosphere, staff is friendly. Would return 100 times.
Given a choice, we chose to sit at the bar. ‘‘Twas a great choice as we would have missed wonderful interaction with Shannon, Carson, and Jack. The food was incredibly tasty - the kielbasa platter with sauerkraut, a side that my wife said was the best she’d ever eaten and the pork belly sandwich. While we held out a small hope that we might see Mr. Simon and perhaps get a picture for our 8 year old granddaughter who grew up watching “The Chew”, Mabel’s BBQ is a well-run restaurant with friendly and accommodating staff and great food. As a result, a nice dining experience!
Delicious BBQ and super fast service. I haven't had a BBQ in over three years after recently returning to the U.S. from Japan. Mabel's left me satisfied and wanting more. A full bar with lots of bourbon and whiskey options including house cocktails and craft beers. The brisket was amazing and can be served as fatty or lean. This visit was much needed for my BBQ cravings but now I have the itis and can't lift myself off the couch.
Mabel’s BBQ was recommended by almost every site and it did not disappoint. The food service was quick and effortless with a menu that is not overpowering. My companion got the pork ribs and they were exceptional while my brisket was over cook and tough to eat I enjoyed the load fired potatoes which had pulled brisket and for this my rating remains 5 stars. The two level dine in options is great for couples or large groups with a liquor menu that is more than 2 pages. The ice cream was remarkably good for a simple vanilla!
I went here 3 days in a row just for the brisket.I 'm not a rib guy but they were the best ribs Ive ever had. I crave this place now.Always had an awesome time here.
This is outstanding food. The restaurant itself is casual, and the staff is very friendly. I got the ribs that were falling off the bone. Just delicious.
took a visitor from out of town. This was his first dining experience in Cleveland and he was overly impressed. The fatty brisket was the best brisket I ever had.
The food was delicious. We had smoked brisket sandwiches and pork belly with sauerkraut. I would have loved to have tried the potatoes but it was New Year's Eve and they were out of that early. Didn't have to wait at all. We were seated right away. The service is excellent. Would definitely go back.
I did my research and decided on Mabel's and was not disappointed. Family table serving style Got the Brisket, Ribs, Kielbasa and Short Ribs and all were incredible. Went with fried potatoes, Cole slaw, cauliflower greens for sides. All good. We were all thrilled with service and food.
