Unless you have plenty of time and all the patience in the world, I would avoid this local “Mexican” spot. I gave two stars because we were seated quickly, had items comped off the bill, and got an apology/complimentary drink for the abysmal service me and my guest received. After being seated, we did not get a real opportunity to put in our drink and appetizer orders for at least 15min. After an extended period of time where we emptied our water glasses, we noticed another table that got seated after us got drinks and appetizers when we couldn’t even get a refill for our water. Some time later, we got our appetizers. My “Fundido” was cold which was amazing since they not only had to melt cheese but char the top of it so for it to be cold meant it was sitting for quite some time. My guest got the wings. Somehow the chef managed to work some magic and make them taste like we were eating seafood. After we were pretty much done, we got our drinks finally. My mango juice was actually a $3 can of something I could have gotten at the store. My guest had the watermelon margarita which we will definitely not recommend. It was replaced by a strawberry and while it was an improvement, it still was reminiscent of cough syrup with tequila. The waitress, after finding an employee to look for her, showed up to fill our waters. Only one got filled before she rushed away leaving one glass less than half filled. Eventually we were able to make our entree orders after seeing a table come and go. An extended wait followed then we received our meal. Mine was cold and my guest’s was tasteless. The excuse I was given was that they thought I wanted it rare. Not only was I not given a temperature choice when I ordered, rare does not mean the food is supposed to be room temperature especially when the other half isn’t meat. They took it and instead of remaking it, they threw it back on the grill to then put back on the same plate to serve to me once again. At this point we once again ran out of water with our server nowhere to be found. We didn’t get her help until we finally decided on the check. There was a discrepancy with the Carne and papas posted as $23 but charged as $26 with no additions added. At this point the server attempts to gain some goodwill by offering a free drink to my guest for the mess of a dinner. Definitely somewhere I would not bring anyone.

Hola taco's second location on Larchmere has provided the neighborhood with a unique, refreshing, authentic Latino culinary experience that pairs with stellar mixed drinks. With Pulbo Beer company holding the monopoly on their beer selections, it isn't hard to find a light, crisp, sipping beer to pair with their delicious variety of sharing-size appetizers.Aesthetically striking upon walking in, service is prompt and more than willing to assist if you are unfamiliar with any ingredients they might utilize on their menu.I had a habanero margarita with a tajin rim, which is seen in one of the photos. While it is visually appealing, and the drink as a stand alone was refreshing with a great balance of cooling heat, the rim did not complement the beverage as well as planned. As my app I ordered Volquetas: caramelized plantains with braised beef, queso, and pickled onions. The flavors together created a medley of sweet, salty meal as the bowl was significantly larger than anticipated.During my two hour experience here, the volume of customers was relatively low. Perhaps due to mother's day, but the seating did seem a little close had the restaurant seated full capacity. Parking might also be a little difficult due to the surrounding neighborhood and stores/restaurants.Overall a great dining experience with reasonable pricing. Would like to stop back again to try some of their more popular items as well.

I get that it was Cinco de Mayo, but we waited almost 2 hours to get a server AND after ordering food to finally receive it. The food was literally the most underwhelming thing we all ever had. There aren’t good options for vegetarians and they had no fish dishes. Also, we reserved a table online but the day before, I received a call saying they don’t take reservations for Cinco de Mayo. Understandable. However, I arrived early just to get a table and when I asked, a server told me I should’ve made a reservation. The staff did try to accommodate us after clearing things up, hence the 2 stars. Will not return.

This was our first time here and was super excited to try this establishment out. We sat at a table in the bar area. Waited 12 minutes for someone to greet us. Didn’t happen. The server kept going to the table that was next to us. I asked her if she was our server. She said no & kept walking. Waited another 7 minutes for someone to finally come over. She came with water no menus no straws nothing. We ordered guac and queso. Guac was sweet & queso was salty. We sent it back. It was not taken off the bill. Ordered the Mexican ramen. More meat than noodles and definitely lacked flavor. Server never came back to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything else. Customer service is definitely horrible. WOULD NOT GO BACK.

Had dinner there last night to hang out for conversation with a old friend -- and it was just wonderful. Casual but nice. You could take a date there... but it also has a very friendly vibe. I live right off of Larchmere, in the same neighborhood... but had never eaten there. You have to try the taco section of the menu. A long list of really different chef-driven culinary inventions... each one more delicious than the last.I'm giving it 5 stars.... and if there were more I would add them. Definitely going back.

We had a great experience here ?... The staff greeted us with a shot inside a lime at the door, the staff was nice and very attentive.... Our drinks were absolutely delicious and made perfectly ??... The food was made from scratch and very authentic and tasted great.... We danced and had the whole place vibin it was dope and we will definitely be back ??❤️... Thank you for a great time and lasting memories

Don't forget to leave the paper off the burrito! ?Great place, good, people and atmosphere!

Really cool vibe. Everything was pretty tasty. Had the chorizo and roasted corn queso for an app. I loved it! Very delicious. As far as my entrée I went with a beef and a chicken birria tacos. I thought they were pretty good. I washed it down with a strawberry margarita. The bar tendy wasnt shy with the pour of tequila . All in all it was good.

My family & I got seated at 7:00pm and about 7:30 we was still waiting to be introduced to our waiter, no one attended to us, I understand that it’s busy but was not once offered water nor asked what would we like to drink, what appetizers would we like or what did we want to order! I got up and asked what was the holdup because we sat for so long & the guy behind the counter told me that after he complete two other orders he would be over to take our order and that was at 7:45!!!!Never Again✌?

Before I start the Bartender is awesome but the Birria tacos was good but the broth for dipping was a disappointment. I hate that because I want restaurants like this to flourish but unfortunately this was not one. I look toSee what else on the menu is good. Sorry☹️
