Owner is rude. Cafe does not have WiFi and “is not a place to sit and work”. Do not waste your money here.Edit** The owners response to this review is a clear reason why no one should spend money here.To the Owner: I think it's time you quit. Give up. You are not built to own/operate a service based business. You may be a great baker...but that's where your skills end. There is a reason why your shop was EMPTY at 9:30am...it is because of your attitude and lack of customer service. Your business is across the street from the hospital and few blocks from the university. Do you not think that people may be more inclined to visit your business if you accommodate the people that are closest to you? People will come, enjoy their experience, and be more inclined to spend money if you create an environment that is inviting to your customers. Pull your head out of your @$$...because I can tell you, if you continue your business as is, you won't have a business much longer.

I have visited approximately 6 times in the past year. I walk over from Taussig Cancer Center while my husband gets treatment. I wish the two behind the counter realized that, due to where this Cafe is located, the chances of getting a customer in need of kindness are high. They aren’t friendly but I’ve overlooked that because the food is good. Today I left disappointed in the way I was treated. I too work in the service industry and cannot support this business anymore. I wouldn’t ever treat people this way. Good luck Grumpy Duck.

Stopped in to the “cafe” to get a cup of coffee. Person behind the counter said “no food? That’s what we do here.” Reluctantly made my coffee and gave it to me. When I went to a table to put my lid on the coffee (there was literally one other customer in the shop), the person behind the counter said “that coffee is To Go.”Really, really bad customer service. Coffee is moderately okay, if you like burnt beans. Bakery offerings look okay, but if you’re not doing gluten for whatever reason, be aware that everything out was gluten. I’d stay away anyway, as they’re very unfriendly.

I visit the fluffy duck often and I must say the vanilla latte, the cardamom latte and the ham & cheese croissant are THEE best!! I would have given it 5 stars but the customer service needs major improvement. The slim one is a little intimidating and totally not friendly. I asked him to warm my croissant once and he proceeded to explain all the reason why he couldn’t versus sticking it in the oven for like 10 secs! Other than that the food n drinks don’t disappoint! He’s like the soup chef on Seinfeld ??

The Fluffy Duck Cafe pastries look delicious, but do not let the "Cafe" part of the name fool you nor the Siri recommendation for Fluffy Duck Cafe as a coffee place. My father and I came here for some coffee and ultimately ordered plain, black coffee. The coffee selection is ridiculously minimal. Furthermore, do not let the row of hanging mugs fool you, either. If you order solely coffee, you are not allowed to stay in the building. Coffee is only "to-go" style. They will make you leave unless you order some of their food. This is not due to being busy nor having too many customers. The building was empty except for an elderly couple (who notably was not eating or drinking anything), and several chairs and tables were unoccupied. Yet, my father and I were still told to go, simply because we ordered coffee--- coffee of which was more expensive than a Panera latte, despite being plain, black coffee. This was not due to Covid regulations. Nobody in the cafe was wearing a mask. The cashier was incredibly unsettling. He seemed as though he did not want to be there and acted likewise. He occasionally made eye contact but would almost immediately divert his eyes to another location. My father attempted to cordially converse with the cashier, but the man would dodge many of my father's statements, as if he was incapable of small-talk or friendly conversation. This place may have delicious pastries, but the cashier was rude and unsettling, and this is not the place to go for coffee. You will get kicked out. Fluffy Duck Cafe is definitely a 1/5 for me. I will not be coming back.

After visiting Fluffy Duck Café for the first time, I was honestly in shock because I never knew just how good a croissant could be. I actually walked back from my car to buy more after I sat down in the driver’s seat and took my first bite. I had the best morning sipping an incredible orange cardamom latte while chatting with the owner who is truly a master at his craft. I feel confident in saying that these are the best croissants in Cleveland, and I imagine that this is the same caliber of cuisine that one would find in Paris. Do yourself a favor and check this place out before it becomes one of those spots with a line out the door everyday because with a product like theirs it won’t be long until people catch wind of this place.

I went in today to grab a quick coffee since I was in the area. The owner refused to give me a coffee if I was not going to get food. He said "this is what we do here, we sell breakfast and lunch not just coffee". He may have forgotten that it is called a café !!!I always liked stopping by Fluffy Duck whenever I would be in the area, you know, to support local businesses. Lately, the owner has been complaining every time I go in that they are not getting much traffic. No surprise given that attitude. Never going there again.

We were rudely asked to leave after buying several coffees and a muffin.Guy in the front claimed he didn't have enough room to let us sit a while. The place was empty.Would not recommend, very disappointed.

I love reading these reviews, because instead of caring about the amazing quality of their coffee, baked goods and sandwiches, people apparently want to also be emotionally massaged when they are ordering something from this location. Who cares if they seem a little grumpy?? I want excellent coffee and food, and that is exactly what you find here. Give them sass back, they won't care. I frequent their spot multiple times a week and will continue to do so. Thank you guys for the excellent quality, and send the haters to Starbucks.

DO NOT FREQUENT THIS PLACE. Totally awful.I have been to Fluffy Duck a number of times over the years, always happy to support locally owned businesses. I've picked up lunch or sometimes a round of coffee for my colleagues. I have hosted three work meetings here in the past two weeks, as my office recently moved easily within walking distance. Two weeks ago, I took a colleague for coffee and a sandwich, the jerk behind the desk chided us for ordering coffee because they "do pastries here". (This, despite my having ordered a sandwich...). We were no doubt surprised by the tone (and the strange communication), but I laughed it off. This morning, I came in to order a cappuccino to go. The same jerk from before asked, "Would you like ay food?" I said, "No, thank you. Just the coffee." He responded, "Well, this is what we do here," as he rang up my order for coffee. I responded, "So, you don't want my money?" He shrugged and said, "I'm just trying to tell you what we do here." I said, "Forget it." He shrugged again, and I left.No apology. No attempt at conciliation. AWFUL customer service. Not only did they lose a single customer, but they've lost my entire office and the food and coffee we would have purchased for the number of partners we host for meetings.I have previously worked -- for years -- in the service industry. Sorry, no. This man is not "surly." He is flat out rude. It's such a shame because their pastries are decent... Just not worth the pain.
