A great place, cozy europe-inspired atmosphere with the best draft list in the area with unique, quality European crafts. And that is perfect to go with the excellent menu that has recently been upscaled with the new chef. Always a fun, delicious meal when we go!
Der Brau is a great place - not just for authentic German cuisine (made very well) but also for their beer! The owner is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about craft beer and regularly supplies the restaurant with an intelligently curated collection of beers from both side of the Atlantic. Staff are trained to answer questions and suggest pairings, and they often have special dinner and beer events that highlight their culinary creativity. Furthermore, the entire place is just cozy, unpretentious, and special. If you haven't been to Der Brau, go there now! It's a humble spot tucked along Lorain and well worth a trip to discover their great menu offerings in a vintage, relaxed, casual setting.
Limited selection for brunch but 1 German bratwurst sandwich with Apple/bacon sauerkraut and spicy mustard with fries & pickle AND 1 German frankfurter with traditional sauerkraut, fries and their "curry ketchup". Also had sauerkraut balls as appetizer.Sandwiches were tasty, sauerkraut was good as well. Sauerkraut ball were so-so, lots of "filler" little flavour. "Curry ketchup" one dish tasted like seafood sauce with horseradish, next tasted more like ketchup, Oh well.Service was spot on, coffee kept flowing for Mrs.Turtle and for me a cornucopia of imported beers to keep my whistle wet.Over all the vote is.....WE'LL BE BACK.?
Awesome food. Fries were perfectly crisp with a bite. Sausage was flavorful, served with a special ketchup. Pretzels were freshly made and served w the best cheese dip I think I've ever had!
Great atmosphere, beers on tap were delish. Portion sizes were decent but felt they could have been a bit larger. Had a good time.

Great atmosphere, old school bar feel, friendly people all around..we didn’t know we had to make a reservation but Jen was fantastic and accommodated us. Definitely coming back again!! Super 5 ⭐️! PROST!!!?
food is always good when we visit. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. Just wish they had nicer lighting in the dining area. Its not bad, just a bit dated.
The Valentine Day surf and turf special was outstanding.
