The barista was kind enough to explain that it’s referred to as an espresso au lait! Was really grateful for their helpam moving to California from the U.K. and driving across the states w my two dogs and English husband. His first time driving across the states. Has been disheartening to see so many trump signs and this little oasis was really the tonic we neededPlus, beautiful park right across the wayHighly recommend!

A cozy, neighborhood coffee shop of the old school varietal, located in a proper, old storefront space, eschewing the bougie affectations of New Coffee while still being a full service establishment. Giant rugelachs. Rugelaches? Rugeslach? Who knows. Anyway. Good stuff
Super cute and trendy coffee shop. The coffee is amazing and the baked goods are HUGE and delicious! The staff is very helpful and friendly if you need suggestions on what to order.

The coffee is always good and even on a Saturday they had great stock of the stuffed croissants from heaven! (Look, I haven't been here for over a year: I'm excited.)They have an extended entrance so you don't have to wait in the wind, 4 customers at a time are allowed in the main room, and the bathrooms are open for customers. Masks are, of course, required. No indoor seating but they do have a few tables outside.
This place is so GREAT!!! The coffee is fantastic and the employees are so, so kind! I come here at least once a day; the prices are reasonable and the quality of coffee and food is phenomenal. I love supporting local businesses and I will continue to support this establishment!! Great job all around!!!!!!! Highly Recommend!!!! During summer months there are tables outside and if the weather is nice, it makes a great place to spend your lunch hour.
Yesterday was my first time , met a friend here. I had the apple cinnamon iced tea I believe , and it was indeed delicious . Today I took the grand kids in for a snack, we picked the dark, dark Chocolate vegan cookie and I got a different flavored tea which was equally as delicious as yesterday's . The 3 of us shared the cookie and we all 3 are in agreement that , that, was indeed, one of the most fantastic tasting cookies we've had. Ever. We will be going back .
I was introduced to Civilization by some cycling friends, and it has become one of my favorite coffee places in downtown Cleveland. It is small with an old fashioned feel inside, and everything about it is excellent, from the coffees to the pastries to the breakfast food options. My go-to while there is a cafe americano and a ham and cheese croissant. Check them out - you will not be disappointed!
