Nachos, barbacoa taco
We have loved coming to Avo since it opened- great food and drinks! But today we brought our little puppy, and the staff was so kind! They gave her a big water bowl as soon as we got there, and then gave us a gift bag with a dog scarf, toy and bones. Staff was super friendly with our pup and us! We ? Avo!
Made a reservation for 8 for a birthday last night! Great service, tasty food, awesome margaritas! We had a cute little private area for our party. One person got their food a little later (me haha), and we didn’t complain, but management stopped by anyways to apologize. Professional and efficient team!!! Awesome experience! Will be going back!

A different kind of Mexican place, Lots of choices you wont see at other Mex restaurants. Really really good food. The pork nachos were amazing. The pork itself was amazing. I wasn't fond of the honey on guacamole, but everyone else loved all the variations they had.The margaritas were so good, but I always have to add more tequila.The waiter was attentive and friendly also.
love love love the margaritas!!! the different salt and sugar flavors are so fun!!! got a berry margarita with berry sugar rim was amazing. Got the crispy carnitas and was obsessed.
Went here for the first time this weekend and the food was VERY good and flavorful! The drinks were perfect. I love all of the different options the menu has to offer. However, our server was terrible. He didn’t bring us our food, didn’t ask us how it was, and left us hanging for long periods of time. He passed our table several times and would glance at us but wouldn’t stop back at our table. We were done eating and waited for the bill for 20min so we finally went up to the bar and had the bartender bring us our check. I loved the food but having bad service makes we hesitant about coming back!
I love this restaurant, it’s an outstanding addition to the Ohio City neighborhood. I’ve been here for both work and with friends & family. The food is delicious. The Arepas, Elote dip, and Maduros, are a few of my faves. Also, the Colorado burrito is excellent and if I had to pick one guacamole, it would be goat cheese but they are all quite tasty. Avo’s staff is always warm and welcoming and their playlists are among the best in Cleveland. Check out the margaritas and the High Violet cocktail.
Tldr: Get the barria tacos with Wagu beef, the avo Rita as a drinkMy partner and I went here to celebrate. The food here is delicious. I got the tacos with Grilled shrimp, fried avocado and wagu beef with elote as an extra side. The Wagu beef was so savory and awesome tasting that it overshadowed the excellence of the other tacos. The elote was very good but the corn kernals seemed to be very small.My partner got the barria tacos with Wagu beef and carnitas. I tried a bite and it was so delicious.To share we got the Chipotle garlic salsa and chips. The chips were really good as was the salsa, but I really look forward to trying all their different salsas.For drinks, my partner got the bourbon sasparilla and really enjoyed it. He also tried the tequila old-fashioned, but said that it seemed very chocolatey. In addition, he got the berry margarita, he liked it but not as much as the bourbon sasparilla.I tried the avo Rita and loved it. I also got the lavender margarita and the pineapple habanero margarita. They were good, bit not as good as the avo Rita.
The food was great, but service was awful. There were only a few other people seated in the dining area, but wait time was a lot longer than expected. At least 30 minutes passed before anyone even came over to great us or take our drink orders. On top of that our waiter up sold us on salsa and extras for our burritos making our bill $40-50 per person. Specifically he asked what protein we wanted in our burritos without mentioning adding protein is an additional charge. Since the food was good, we decided to try a to go order on another occasion. When we called to place the order, we were told not to call and to go online. I will not be returning because of the poor service I experienced on multiple occasions.
