Visiting and found this on a search. Food was good and service friendly. Had fried catfish and chicken, baked Mac and cheese (OMG), rice gravy and black-eyed peas. I prefer my fish fried lightly. I didn’t think to ask because I assumed that’s how it would come. My bad or theirs??? I don’t know but Other than that it was great!!! This will be added to our rotation when we come to Cleveland.
The to go service was good. Everything I ordered was in the bag. The food, on the other hand, was awful! The green beans were watered down and mushy with no taste what so ever! They didn't even bother to put salt in them. The collard greens had very little seasoning. ..mostly sugar. And the orders that came with fires had very few of them. I was so looking forward to a good meal on Mother's Day. Oh well.
The staff here, Better yet the MAN Missing A FRONT TOOTH. Ruined a good place to eat. Just for been a jackass!!The food was great. But when a woman can’t pick up an order without some obscene gesture been made from some lowlife. It makes it all bad.One bad apple ruins them all.
The food is disgusting, the grease is old and the fries are soggy and the bbq sauce is nasty, my chicken was horrible, there food is horrible
Chicken was good, fries soggy and burned, coleslaw noooo taste or seasoning,. No legs, no mashed potatoes but meatloaf is the special., No ribs and it's a SOULFOOD spot, ?? Supposed to come with 2 sides but if you want dressing it's $1.00 extra!! WHY???? LONG time before someone came over and the restaurant was EMPTY!!!!
1st time trying and the employees were very friendly and professional. We ordered a little bit of everything and our order was ready in a timelt manner. The food was very good and so was the service. We will definitely be back
This was my first time there. The lady behind the counter was polite and courteous. I loved her energy.I think the food was having a bad day. I'm not counting this place out yet. Maybe the next time will be better.
Delicious!!!!It was a wonderful experience to visit a restaurant that specializes in down home Southern foods here. We did not know what to expect, but the staff was patient (as we tried to figure out what we wanted from the menu), helpful( offered recommendations and a small sample of an item), entertaining(they were funny and very engaging) and part of the reason to visit again. The original owner is a Southern woman from SC.The place had a constant stream of customers. There was plenty of room for social distancing. Everyone did carryout. The restaurant is no cash transactions.
Sorry I ate my fries already lol . I’ve been eating here since moving to Cleveland for college (4 years ) and this place has stayed consistent. This isn’t your regular restaurant food , you can taste the homemade deliciousness !
My family and I were visiting the city and had cravings for some Soul Food. Searched google and this place came up. Look at the reviews and was like okay let’s go here. Honestly the food was terrible!! I had a Pork Chop meal with Mac and cheese, Yams, and Dressing. The Pork Chop was the only thing that was good because it was fresh. The Mac and cheese was super dry and it tasted like it was missing a key ingredient. The yams I don’t know but something was off about the flavor, NOW THAT DAMN DRESSING NEEDS TO BE THROWN OUT!! I don’t know what that was but it sure as heck wasn’t no dressing. Disgusting isn’t even the word for that dressing. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one is because the guy who took the order was pretty nice.
