After making reservations, my husband and I were very excited to eat at this place for our date night. We tried to do a walk in about a month ago, but told we couldn’t get in without a reservation (they had just opened and there wasn’t a sole inside other then the wait staff…odd but then again we didn’t know what they were expecting from the night we tried to walk-in).The complimentary bread was when I started to be concerned about the quality. The second piece inside was cold to the touch(possibly previously frozen). The crust didn’t have the crunch that you would have expected from this type of bread. The meal itself was meh. For the price and the taste, it seemed to be cooked without much passion or love. The hubs got the seafood dish and added the shrimp scampi. The dish was oddly sweet like caramel, which we both found confusing. The shrimp was huge and the seafood on it was abundant. They didn’t skip on that part of the dish!I got the escarole and beans. It seemed to have been sitting out before making its way over to our table. It was nice but I didn’t know what to expect. I would have probably asked for a lemon to brighten up the flavor should I come back. The service was on point and our server knew the menu perfectly. She was very knowledgeable and very friendly each time.If you ask me if I would want to go back, I’ll pass. For the price I would have expected better quality and fresher.
What a disappointment! We booked this restaurant in anticipation of a lovely family meal with my daughter who is in from out of town and my brother. One of us had been together for a very long time and we were looking forward to catching up. Despite making a reservation in advance, they set a set a table adjacent to a large wedding reception. There was a DJ playing very loud music and encouraging the wedding party to do various dances. Not only could we not talk without screaming or hear what each other was saying but it was so loud that it was painful. After complaining, about midway through our meal, they moved us outdoors onto a patio that was closed for the night. Despite it being a chilly night we we were relieved to be away from the loud music, but it really changed our evening into something stressful and Instead of something relaxing. The food was okay but nothing amazing. Here’s the clincher of the evening…I had brought a birthday cake with me for my daughter and brothers birthday. When we got our bill, which was very expensive, not only did they not compass anything for all of our troubles, but they had the nerve to charge us $15 to cut and serve cake to the five of us! We will never return to this restaurant. That goes without saying!
We were lucky to happen upon this wonderful restaurant in the summer of 2021. When we visited again in April 2022, the owner still remembered us from that previous visit; this tells you everything you need to know about the welcoming family-like atmosphere of this restaurant. The ambiance is great for a long leisurely meal with family, and I imagine that it would also be a great ace for a romantic dinner for two. They play a great selection of music, ranging from arias to American Popular Song (think "Chances Are", "Misty", and "Moon River"), but the music is never too loud and will never drown out your conversation. The selection of wines by the glass has enough breadth to pair well with all of their appetizers and entrees. The service is excellent - they are there when you need them and, just as important, they are not there when you don't need them. This is the kind of restaurant that is conducive to long leisurely meals; they are not going to bring out your entree while you are still in the middle of your appetizers. I'm sure that if you are in a hurry, they will be happy to accommodate you, but by default they are going to assume that you want to take your time.My favorite appetizer is the sauteed calamari; it is very lightly breaded and sauteed with bell peppers, onion, and kalamata olives. I would happily have this wonderful dish as an entree, but we ended up splitting it as an appetizer.Their veal, chicken, and fish entrees are all definitely worth trying. They are simple, tasty, and prepared to perfection. I haven't tried the beef, but I noticed that several tables around me ordered beef dishes and seemed to enjoy them. Finally, for dessert I highly recommend the lemon sorbet. It is served inside a large hollowed-out frozen lemon with a bit of cream on the side - the absolute perfect ending to an absolutely awesome meal.
Had my 19th birthday here. Super happy I chose this place because it was amazing. It was raining and they were super accommodating with the reservation time. When we walked in, the place looked stunning. The servers were really nice and food came out at a reasonable time. The quality of the food was delicious and was a decent size for the price. I mentioned it was my birthday and they gave me a free tiramisu slice that tasted so good! Would recommend again!!
If you want delicious Italian food with generous portion sizes, reasonable prices and great atmosphere this is the place to choose.
I’ve never written a restaurant review but felt compelled to do so for this place. It was the best experience I’ve had in Little Italy. The food is tremendous, the ambiance is just what you would want from an Italian restaurant, and the people are lovely.Everything from the bread to the dessert was delicious but I would recommend the escargot (best I’ve had in Cleveland), linguine with clam sauce, the veal chop, and the fried dough.I’ll be back soon.
Once Angelo and I got done playing phone tag we went over the menu and details and he informed me there would be music and the singer would sing Happy Birthday to my husband, The back room was packed with other celebrations but each one individual. Our cake was set up at the entrance to the room and Angelo had all our guests over to the corner in order to yell surprise! It worked! He was! Even though he'd said he didn't want a party etc. he loved it. Was small and intimate and everyone loved the foods and the music by Ron Clinton was perfect! I'd have another celebration here, easily. Maureen was right on with the service and other girls working that night. Everyone loved the table wine. And you came through with the fried dough! You'll have some new customers! Thanks Angelo! Mira and Lou
The food and atmosphere were good but as soon as we paid, we were asked to leave because they had other people waiting. It felt so rude and we were having dinner with friends that we hadn't seen in awhile. We ended up having to go to the bakery across the street just to finish our reunion and say our goodbyes. It wasn't cheap and we felt very disturbed by the rudeness.
I’m Sicilian and extremely picky and judgmental of Italian restaurants. The atmosphere, music, and food will not disappoint. All the pasta is homemade. This is the place to come!!
The service was top notch! The dessert was the best we ever ate. The entrees are HUGE and amazing! We were sad it was over when we had to leave!
